Kody Brown Gets Brutally Honest On Why He Married Christine

Sister Wives star Kody Brown opened up about his marriage to Christine in his latest interview. The 54-year-old and his ex-wife have been going back and forth in the specials, Look Back and Talk Back. The patriarch claims that he was never in love with any of his ex-wives. However, they insist that they felt his love was real for them back then. Yet, it seemed that Kody had another excuse for his former third wife. Sister Wives: Christine & Kody Brown Were Initially Positive About Their Marriage

TLC recently released a clip about Kody and Christine recalling the early stages of their marriage. “Christine and my relationship in the past has been very well established on the lightness of life,” Kody said. He also revealed that they had years of struggle, but they were able to make it through. However, things ultimately went south between them when they relocated to Flagstaff in 2018.

Christine also admitted that she and her ex-husband were full of joy back then. “Some downs were really low, some ups were really high. And that was a high. It was definitely a high, it was great,” the Sister Wives star said.

Kody Gets Honest About Marriage With Christine

Aside from reminiscing, Kody also opened up about why he ended up marrying Christine. He’s been claiming that he never loved his wives aside from Robyn, and it seems that he’s finally ready to explain why. According to the Sister Wives star, Christine was a “polygamist royalty” back then, and marrying her could help his status at their church.

Sister Wives: Kody Brown Felt Trapped?

The latest sneak peek for the upcoming Sister Wives: Talk Back Part Two also showed Kody discussing why he never left Christine early, despite admitting that he never loved her. According to the Sister Wives star, he was once called a “coward” by his now ex-wife, but he had an explanation for it. He said that he wasn’t technically allowed due to their church, as they were told to remain married to their partners despite all the ups and downs. He said that he can’t just say, “Hey b**ch, I’m done with you. Once we’ve committed to marry a woman, the choice is gone.”

Kody Brown also commended Christine for being brave enough to end their marriage herself. “As much as I tried to love her, it just wasn’t working all the time,” the TLC star added.
