This new movie stars Ali Skovbye, Danny Griffin, and Nathan Witte. Here is what The Futon Critic synopsis says about Hallmark’s new Gilded Newport Mysteries: Murder At The Breakers. The time is July 1895, the Gilded Age. Emma Vanderbilt-Cross is a 21 -year-old writer who is in Newport, Rhode Island, and hobnobbing with the New York elite.
They have flocked to this destination for “a summer of balls, garden parties, and yacht races.’ Moreover, Emma fits in with this class of people as her family is related to the infamous Vanderbilts. Her focus is on what everyone is wearing, and what splendid food they are eating.
However, Emma’s focus has been altered. That is because Goddard, the long-time Vanderbilt business adviser has been murdered! Worst of all, her half-brother Brady Cross has been charged with Goddard’s murder.
Using her keen investigative skills, Emma learns that Goddard has a lot of enemies. The writer soon gathers together a team that helps her uncover clues. That includes her crush, Jesse Whyte, a police detective, housekeeper Nanny O’Neal, as well as the coroner’s assistant, Harriet Rice.
