The Voice Finale: Why Isn’t Jelly Roll Performing?

It is the Season 24 finale of The Voice and one of the most exciting things is the famous performers. Along with the four coaches, there were promises of Earth, Wind & Fire, Keith Urban, AJR, Jelly Roll, Tyla, and Dan + Shay. That is on top of Gwen Stefani, Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, and John Legend. Plus, the twelve finalists coming together for the first time all season to perform live. Unfortunately, one of these amazing performers will be missing from the line-up. Jelly is going to be absent from the finale and he has sent out a statement via Facebook explaining why.

Yes, he is too sick to perform so he will not be there to sing his smash hit, “Save Me.” However, he did share that he will be back for the Season 25 finale it seems. More so, he will deliver the absolute best show he can possibly give to make up for his absence. Fans were extremely understanding about him missing the show and sent him immense amounts of love. Many also understood how hard it was to make the call not to show up but they knew he had to do what was best:

  • Take care of yourself Jelly, we need you around for a long time. You’re exactly what the world needs. Get well hon
  • Feel better. We all must remember to take care of ourselves. So we can take care of others.
  • Damn, I was just wondering why Carson didn’t say your name at the beginning of the show.
  • I was going to watch it just for your performance. But your health is much more important. So may you get well quick.
  • Hope you get better Brother. Love your music. It has been a comfort to me while I fight cancer.

Taking Care Of Things At Home

Jelly Roll may have missed The Voice but he has a lot on his plate back at home, as well. His father-in-law is battling cancer so he and his wife, Bunnie XO put him in hospice care. However, he was doing so well, he went into assisted living. Then, they got him his own place since he has been thriving. Jelly is a natural caretaker and clearly, he would never want to let anyone down.
