‘Golden Bachelor’ Rose Ceremonies Still Crush Gerry Turner
Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner found the second love of his life. However, the journey to get there wasn’t always easy. The rose ceremonies really got to Gerry and they still do. Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner talks about difficult rose ceremonies
Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner opened up about all parts of his journey, the good and the bad. He shared that the absolute worst part of the experience was the rose ceremonies.
People shared what Gerry had to say at a recent Q&A in New York City. He said, “At the end of the day when you know you have to send some of those women home, it was just soul-crushing.” Gerry continued by saying, “You form good friendships, good relationships, good connections, and you work really hard to do it because you want to be open to every possibility that’s in front of you.”
Showrunner Jason Ehrlich was also at the Q&A and said this was true of Gerry. He said that even backstage the eliminations were too much for Gerry to rewatch. Jason said, “When it got to the rose ceremony, you were sitting there, and you stood up and visibly went, ‘Oh, I can’t watch this.’ Still to this day, it affects you. This far removed, [it’s] still so hard for you to watch that moment.”
They all agreed it speaks to who Gerry is as a person.
Even now, seeing those breakups is still tough for Gerry. He hated having to say goodbye and hurt any of the women.
He doesn’t feel like a breakup expert
Gerry Turner joked that he is in no way a breakup expert even though he had to go through it 21 times. He went on to say he would definitely not be qualified to teach a course on breakups.
He said, “It’s like I’m a novice 21 times.”
Gerry also said that each breakup was different based on who he was sending home. However, in the end, it was always sad because they were leaving.
Now that Gerry has made it through the season and all the breakups, he is going to marry the second love of his life. The wedding to Theresa Nist will air live on January 4 on ABC.
