‘My 600-lb Life’: What Happened To S6 Liz Evans?
My 600-lb Life alum Liz Evans had one of the most horrible conditions in Season 6. She was suffering from massive lymphodema when she appeared on the show. The Texas native weighed 721 pounds and couldn’t perform any basic tasks. She was bedridden for 10 years when she sought Dr. Now’s help. Fortunately, she found the courage to turn her life around. My 600-lb Life: Liz Evans’ Rough Past
Liz had a challenging past, which led to her weight gain. She was raised by an alcoholic father and was abused by a relative when she was six. The My 600-lb Life alum was also born with a congenital disability, which made one of her leg bones curve. It prevented her from doing many physical activities. Due to this, she resorted to food as her source of happiness. But her life got worse as she suffered from lymphedema, leaving her almost immobile.
Liz’s Weight Loss Journey
Despite all the negativities in her life, Liz still showed dedication to losing weight. She followed Dr. Now’s weight loss regimes and quickly dropped enough pounds to qualify for bariatric surgery. She also underwent a major operation to remove the lymphedema mass from her legs. According to the former My 600-lb Life star, being able to walk again is one of her top priorities when coming to the show.
Liz Evans was able to drop 353 pounds after her 12-month program, bringing her down to 368 lbs. She was one of Dr. Now’s most successful patients in Season 6. However, during her return episode, it was revealed that she regained 50 pounds after getting back to her unhealthy lifestyle. Luckily, Dr. Now was able to bring her back on track. She got to walk again with the help of a cane and vowed to continue a healthy diet.
My 600-lb Life: What Is Liz Evans Up To Today?
Liz also revealed in her return episode that some of her medical issues affected her progress. However, she assured the fans that she’s still attending therapy sessions and will continue to shed weight. Unfortunately, the My 600-lb Life alum hasn’t been active on any social media platforms.
Regardless, her Where Are They Now? episode showed she was on the right path after leaving the program. At this point, fans can only hope that Liz Evans will resurface online to share major updates about her journey.
