‘7 Little Johnstons’ Fans Worry About Liz Johnston’s Daughter
Elizabeth “Liz” Johnston and Brice Bolden from 7 Little Johnstons welcomed their daughter, Leighton in early November. At the time, everyone smiled. Even TLC fans seemed happy because the child might inject some new content into the show. However, some of them recently expressed some concern about the baby.
Liz Johnston Started Sharing Photos Of Her Daughter
7 Little Johnston fans were happy to see that Trent and Amber’s daughter isn’t hiding her baby’s face from TLC viewers. The first photos were quickly followed by one to celebrate her first week. Others came via Amber. Some of them showed the entire family with their new grandchild, and others showed Brice, now a first-time dad.
Liz Johnston also posted photos of her sweet baby enjoying her very first bath. These are the type of pictures that get 7 Little Johnstons’ fans into a state of baby fever. There are very high hopes that the pregnancy, and birth of little Leighton will make it into the next season of the TLC show.
7 Little Johnstons Fans Spot Something That Worries Them
The TLC star posted a sweet video of her baby recently. The scenes in it came in honor of her first month of life. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, so why did fans start worrying? Well, it turned out that in one of the photos, the baby was getting fed. The Sun noticed the conversation that followed definitely revealed some concerns. However, Liz had no concerns at all.
In the caption of the post, Liz Johnston seemed quite emotional.
One month with our girl, Leighton Drew words can’t express how much we love you🥰, you’re the sweetest and happiest baby girl, I can’t wait to see where life takes you❤️
When the post was shared on Reddit, the OP thought that Liz was feeding the baby. However, it was a nurse. In the comments section, one person seemed confused saying, “What are they feeding the baby and why an adult metal spoon? I’m so confused.”
Another commenter also wondered what was going on, noting “I’m a bit confused with the spoon feeding milk.”
Is it Something To Worry About?
In the comments, various people who worked or used to work in the NICU calmed alarmed TLC fans down.
- I’m assuming Liz had a cesarean. The recommendation would be to feed baby within the first hour (golden hour) of being born to stimulate milk production and baby’s digestive system moving. Sometimes after cesarean, it’s just not possible. That’s when hand expression into a spoon happens! Milk stimulation happens, baby gets fed, win win!
- NICU nurse. Can confirm this is very common. We use spoons and 1mL syringes when mom is only getting very small amounts of colostrum in the beginning.
- Get that colostrum into baby by [any]means possible!!! Especially if the hospital staff were worried about the baby’s blood sugar. Newborns sometimes have issues with milk transfer at first and this is the best way to make sure they are getting what they need. Usually, this is done following a nursing session.
