‘My 600-lb Life’: Season 5 Tanisha Cleveland Life Update
My 600-lb Life alum Tanisha Cleveland had a rough journey in Season 5. The Texas native weighed 588 pounds when she sought Dr. Now’s help. She had some ups and downs during her programs due to her health complications, including gaining even more weight. But at the age of 32, Tanisha knew that she had to make changes to her life before it was too late. She’s also a mother to two girls, and staying present for them motivated her to lose weight. My 600-lb Life: Tanisha Cleveland’s Difficult Past
Tanisha suffered from a difficult childhood. She was physically abused by her parents, who were also drug addicts. Due to this, she moved in with her grandparents. The My 600-lb Life alum also suffered from molestation and sexual abuse. She resorted to food to cope with the traumatic events in her life, which led to her unhealthy lifestyle.
Tanisha eventually got married and had two kids. She also gained much more weight throughout her two pregnancies. Her husband, Troy, was the only supporter she had and even appeared during the show. However, the two filed for divorce, leading to her weight gain.
Tanisha’s Weight Loss Journey
Tanisha initially struggled with her weight loss regime. She only dropped 11 pounds during the first few months with Dr. Now. She quit the show twice due to her struggles to lose weight. Her divorce also affected her dedication to getting her life back on track. However, during her third attempt, she went into therapy and ended up shedding 119 pounds. It was also revealed that she had found a new boyfriend. The former My 600-lb Life alum’s last reported weight was 484 lbs after two years of documenting her journey.
My 600-lb Life: Did Tanisha Cleveland Lose Weight After The Show?
Tanisha briefly kept in touch with the fans after the show. In 2020, she shared a stunning photo of herself looking slimmer and healthier. Many of her last photos also indicate that she’s now living happily with her two daughters. The My 600-lb Life alum has yet to share her current weight. But she seems to be more dedicated behind cameras. Her FB bio also says, “CHANGING MY LIFE FOR THE BETTER 1 SECOND AT A TIME,” indicating that she’s still pursuing her physical goals.
It is not known if she and her boyfriend are still together. Regardless, many are glad that she was able to overcome all the challenges in life, especially during her traumatic childhood.
