‘My 600-lb Life’: How’s S11 Patrick Macon Amid Cancer Battle?
My 600-lb Life Season 11 featured the story of Patrick Macon. His journey wasn’t easy, as he went through difficulties shedding weight. He was 657 pounds when he appeared in the show. The Georgia native was struggling in his daily life due to obesity. His weight gain began due to a lack of discipline with food. But aside from losing weight, it also appears that he’s battling with a major illness. Keep reading to see what he’s up to today.
My 600-lb Life: Patrick Macon’s Weight Loss Journey
Patrick was told by Dr. Now to drop 130 pounds in three months in order for him to qualify for bariatric surgery. He lost 40 pounds in a month, and the surgeon thought that it was a good start. However, the My 600-lb Life alum gained 25 pounds in the following month. Dr. Now began to suspect that he was not taking his programs seriously. Fortunately, Patrick got back on track and lost 51. He was able to receive a gastric sleeve operation and lost a total of 126 pounds. His last reported weight was 531 lbs.
How’s Patrick Today?
Patrick kept in touch with the fans on social media shortly after his episode. In February, the My 600-lb Life alum shared a Gallbladder Cancer Awareness Month post on FB. He received comments from his family and friends saying that they were praying for him, implying that he may have been diagnosed with gallbladder cancer.
- “Sending prayers and hugs!! Love you,” one commenter said
- “Keeping you in thoughts and prayers!!!” another person added.
His wife, Amanda, also shared the same post with a caption, “You are not alone babe! You have an army behind you! We love you Patrick Macon.” The husband and wife have been silent since then.
My 600-lb Life: Patrick Macon May Have Set Aside His Physical Goals
Patrick’s weight loss progress remains in question today. One of his last posts on social media was about his daughter’s 18th birthday. It seems that his possible illness may have hindered his journey to lose weight. Viewers were also left worried by the end of his episode due to his numerous disagreements with Dr. Now as he kept making excuses for his struggles to drop pounds.
Dr. Now has shown tough love to many of his patients throughout the years. It often worked and motivated them to pursue their goals much harder. At this point, fans can only hope that Patrick Macon is doing well and will soon share news about his life. He has yet to film a follow-up episode as well.
