Ethan And Moriah Plath Reunite Amid Ugly Feud

Welcome to Plathville‘s Ethan Plath and Moriah Plath have finally reunited. What started as a long-distance argument that led to blocking phone numbers, may finally be coming to an end. For details on their feud and reunification, continue reading.

Plath Feud Origins

At the end of the family’s fourth season of their show, Ethan’s wife Olivia shared a story that painted his mother, Kim Plath, in a negative light. In the story, she ultimately accused the Plath matriarch of stealing from her son and becoming combative when confronted. Quickly coming to her defense, Moriah and some of their other siblings shared a public statement on Instagram negating Olivia’s claims. When the other Plath children took their stand of solidarity, Ethan and Olivia were on a European vacation. They were upset to be accused of lying and insinuated that Ethan’s younger siblings weren’t fully aware of everything that happened.

Additionally, tensions continued to rise between Moriah and Olivia. Moriah’s technology skills leave a lot to be desired. As a result, she recruited the help of Olivia in order to release her music on a variety of music platforms including YouTube. While Olivia and Ethan were away on their vacation, Moriah attempted to access one of the platforms. Unfortunately, she couldn’t figure it out. She did reach out to Olivia to obtain the login information. However, she jumped the gun when Olivia didn’t respond fast enough, and accused her sister-in-law of stealing her music. Legal measures were threatened, furthering the divide between the two.

In an attempt to be a good husband, Ethan was forced to take his wife’s side. He was, and still is, fully convinced that his wife meant no ill-will in regard to Moriah’s music. At the time, he chose not to address the issues until they returned stateside to the home they shared with Moriah. Shockingly, they returned home weeks later to find that Moriah had moved out without a word.

To Make Matters Worse

Upon discovering that his sister had moved out unexpectedly, Ethan began badgering Moriah. She claims that he was calling her all the time. During these calls, she said that he would “just yell”, telling her to apologize to his wife and repay them rent money he felt she owed. She stated that he wouldn’t give her any opportunity to speak and explain her side of things. As a result of his behavior, she chose to block his number.

Sometime later, it is shown in season 5 that Moriah took what she felt was the next step to mend her relationship with her brother. She texted him saying, “I forgive you.” Confused by this, Ethan asked what she was forgiving him for, which led to Moriah again blocking him.

Well, That’s Awkward

Ahead of the new episode airing later tonight, TLC shared a clip showing Ethan and Moriah together. In the clip, Moriah says that she thinks “it’s going on almost probably a year” since she had seen him. Ethan clarifies that it has been nine months. Their brother Micah adds that that is a long time to go without seeing a sibling.

Instead of apologizing or anything of the sort, Moriah chooses to make small talk. She lets Ethan know that she knows he bought a new car, and mentions that she’s thankful for what he taught her about cars. Cue the crickets. No response.

Ethan says, “It just feels weird, you know, to be laughing and giggling and carrying on like nothing’s wrong because everything’s wrong.”

Moriah’s take? “I definitely miss Ethan. It’s good to see him again. I don’t really know how to describe it. It’s just like I don’t even feel like he really missed me.” She went on to say she felt like he was being quiet and stern which made her feel as though she was being intrusive.
