Whoopi Goldberg catches a lot of slack from The View fans because she often seems disinterested in whatever they are talking about. This often happens during fluff pieces on the show, and it happened again this past week. However, in this case, Whoopi actually called out the topic and mocked it openly on the show.

Here is what Whoopi said and what it resulted in on The View.

Whoopi Goldberg mocks topic on The View

Whoopi Goldberg is not above showing disinterest and distaste in topics she feels are not worth discussing on The View. That happened this past week, and she went as far as to seemingly call out the show’s producers at the same time. The topic at hand was whether social media should or shouldn’t be an issue for couples concerning their relationships.

It was Whoopi who was tasked with starting the discussion on the topic, and she seemed disinterested from the start. She said “Social media can be an issue for a lot of couples,” before adding the word “apparently” at the end.

When she said that the New York Post‘s Relationship section noted a letter from a woman, she laughed as she read it. The woman has been dating a man for two years and wants a future with him, but she is concerned he “Likes” photos of women on Instagram and “chats” with them.

Whoopi then kicked it off to the other women when she said the man said he was just having fun and wasn’t cheating. When Sunny Hostin asked for clarification on whether he was sliding into women’s DMs or not, Whoopi lost it. Whoopi said, “I’ve been instructed to look like I’m really interested in things like this.” She then pretended to be excited and said she didn’t know “if he’s slipping into DMs or slipping into something else.”

Whoopi Goldberg seems to be growing tired of The View

Whoopi Goldberg is always more engaged on The View when the women are talking about real-world serious issues. However, in all the conversations like the one above. she seems to act like she would rather be anywhere but there. Earlier in the week, the women were talking about phone etiquette and how they prefer to speak to others (facetime, text, phone calls, etc…)

However, as the women were debating each of the methods, Whoopi Goldberg just rested her head on her hand and stared off into space. She added nothing and seemed completely disinterested in the topic at hand. She finally said something when commercial time came and she asked, “Are we good?” before sending the show to commercial.

What are your thoughts on Whoopi Goldberg’s disinterest in the more fluff topics on The View? Should she pretend to show interest in the spirit of the show? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
