‘MBFFL’ Is Whitney Way Thore Using Niece’s Wedding For Clout?
Is TLC star Whitney Way Thore looking for new ways to stay in the spotlight? That’s certainly what fans seem to think after the most recent episodes debuted.
This season, Whitney was delighted to discover her long-lost sister. On top of that, she discovered that her sister also had a daughter, Jaime. Jaime is engaged to be married and invites Whitney to the wedding in an episode.
Although it’s a sweet gesture to include her new aunt, several My Big Fat Fabulous Life viewers are concerned for Jaime. They believe that Whitney might take over the wedding and use it for clout. Keep reading to see what they have to say.
Whitney Way Thore prepares to celebrate her niece’s special day
Over the years, My Big Fat Fabulous Life fans have noticed that Whitney Way Thore loves to be the center of attention. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with being extroverted, several viewers think she takes it too far.
And now, they’re worried Whitney will make Jaime’s wedding all about herself.
“[Jaime’s] wedding and Whitney’s new ‘love interest,'” one Redditor titled their post this week. “So, now that Whitney has been invited to [Jaime’s] wedding, are we expecting to see her hook up with the family friend at the reception? Seems that is what’s being set up to happen given their online ‘date.’ I’m almost willing to bet a big part of the wedding will be drama surrounding Whitney’s love life.”
Many other Redditors agreed and expressed their frustration. Several said they could easily see TLC making the wedding about Whitney and her dating life. Others sympathized with Jaime and felt that Whitney was using her special day for clout.
“Ugh, why does everything have to revolve around Whitney?” another Reddit user chimed in. “Can’t she just be happy for [Jaime] without making it all about her? I can already picture her whining about not having a date or some other drama. It’s exhausting.”
“I expected this. Season 12 will be about the wedding and TLC footing the bill? I can’t think of any reason Jaime would agree to it,” someone else added.

As the current season of My Big Fat Fabulous Life continues, many fans believe that Whitney is pushing away her loved ones. Several viewers pointed out that her friends make very infrequent appearances on the show these days. On top of that, viewers despite how disrespectfully Whitney speaks to her father, Glenn.
After viewing other episodes this season, MBFFL fans think that Whitney would absolutely use Jaime’s wedding as an excuse to stay in the spotlight.
