‘My 600-lb Life’: What Happened To S10 James Bedard?
My 600-lb Life alum James Bedard had a memorable journey in Season 10. He appeared in the show at 625 lbs. The New York native grew up without proper care from his father. His diet had already been unhealthy since he was a child. He mostly ate Haitian food and was already 100 pounds at 6 years old.
James later moved to Texas and found a partner who encouraged him to lose weight. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out. However, he found determination again when he moved back to his hometown and finally sought Dr. Now’s help. Keep reading to see what happened to him after the show.
My 600-lb Life: James Bedard’s Weight Loss Journey
James was initially told by Dr. Now to drop 80 pounds in order to qualify for bariatric surgery. But during the third month of his program, his father passed away. It was revealed that his dad died from heart complications. The My 600-lb Life alum was heavily affected by the loss and had to take a break from his weight loss regimes. The surgeon also gave him some time to rest and get his mentality back on track. However, James struggled with shedding weight and only lost 20 pounds. But Dr. Now pushed him even harder, which ultimately led him to drop 119 pounds over the course of his 12-month journey. His last reported weight was 506 lbs.
What Happened To James After The Show?
James qualified for bariatric surgery by the end of his episode. It’s unclear if he already had the operation. But it was revealed that he never relocated to Texas like the other patients of Dr. Now. Due to this, some fans believe that he still hasn’t proceeded. Nevertheless, the former My 600-lb Life star assured his fans that he would continue to pursue a healthy lifestyle after the show. James Bedard also has a very supportive cousin and a lot of viewers love how she motivated him throughout his physical journey.
My 600-lb Life: James Bedard’s Last Online Appearance
James hasn’t been active on most social media platforms. His IG page was deleted, and he doesn’t seem to have a Facebook account. But in 2022, the My 600-lb Life alum uploaded two clips of himself on TikTok. One of them has a caption that says, “A change must come! Grinding for a better tomorrow STAY TUNED,” showing how serious he is about turning his life around.
James Bedard has yet to share his current weight. Though many are cheering for him and hope that he’s still following Dr. Now’s orders.
