‘DWTS’ Most Memorable Year Night: Who Scored The Highest?
Dancing With The Stars just put on a spectacular performance for Most Memorable Year Night. This week, the top 10 couples had the opportunity to tell amazing stories and share their personal lives with the audience.
Each couple had a compelling story to tell and performed beautifully. But in the judges’ eyes, two couples stood well apart from the rest of the pack and tied for the top spot.
Who are the two couples that shone so brightly?
DWTS featured many Contemporary routines
There was certainly no shortage of Contemporary routines tonight. It’s certainly an emotional dance style and gives the performers a chance to tell stories and convey difficult emotions.
Actress Mira Sorvino and her partner Gleb Savchenko earned their first 8 of the season for their Contemporary routine to “Time After Time” by Cyndi Lauper. Mira’s daughter Mattea joined them for the dance and made the routine a family affair. Although they didn’t nab the highest score of the night, many viewers really appreciated the personal touch to the routine.
The Bachelorette star Charity Lawson and her partner Artem Chigvintsev earned the first 10 of the season from judge Carrie Ann Inaba. Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough both gave the couple 9s, giving them a total score of 28/30. They performed a Contemporary routine to “Lose You to Love Me” by Selena Gomez.
Carrie Ann said she thought it would likely be what the audience remembers most about Charity’s time on Dancing With The Stars.
However, they weren’t the only couple to score a 10. Marvel actress Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy had a stunning Viennese waltz to “Until I Found You” by Stephen Sanchez, which also earned them a 28/30. They managed to tie with Charity and Artem for the top spot on the leaderboard tonight.
One couple says goodbye
Most Memorable Year Night is always an emotionally charged episode for everyone. This makes it so much harder for anyone to say goodbye.
This week, Mira Sorvino and Gleb Savchenko left the competition. Although their routine went over very well with the judges and audience members alike, they ultimately didn’t make it through to the next round. Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough even admitted tonight’s elimination was incredibly close.
Do you agree with the scoring tonight? Or do you think the judges got a few numbers wrong? No matter what you think, be sure to share your ideas in the comments.
Next Tuesday night is Halloween, so tune into ABC at 8 PM Eastern time next week to catch the Halloween episode. The final nine competitors will perform spooky routines you really won’t want to miss.
