‘Alaskan Bush People’ Matt Brown Breaks Silence About His Chronic Pain
Alaskan Bush People fans miss seeing Matt Brown on the Discovery show, but he’s active on social media, and talking about chronic pain. Most people know that he struggled with sobriety problems, but he sends out a lot of messages about staying sober now
ABP Matt Brown Led An Active Life
Often, Bear’s brother camps out in the mountains, so hopefully, his chronic pain won’t interfere with that. The oldest child of Ami and Billy turned 40 years old last month, so he’s not ancient. However, he’s also feeling the grip of years of abuse sinking in. Not just abuse from addictions, but his body starts to twinge a lot because of all his physical activity. Although he wasn’t born in Alaska, he led an active life there.
ABP fans care for Matt Brown, so when he goes absent from social media, they stress about him. Fortunately, he always comes back. In August, he disappeared for a while. So, Discovery fan heaved a sigh of relief when he updated about windy fire conditions. Naturally, as the fiery disaster in Maui had just happened, the threat of fire was on everyone’s mind.
Anyone else noticed how the Maui fire catastrophe seems to have vanished from the news?

Matt Brown Posted About Chronic Pain
Since the fire feedback, the Alaskan Bush People alum shared about completing his orchard. Additionally, he gave folks a pep talk about always taking positives away from negative experiences. Well, right now, he’s finding it a bit hard to feel positive about life. Ami’s son shared a video on Instagram on October 6 and talked about his struggles.
Matt Brown said that these days, he feels every little twinge. In fact, his leg gave him a reminder of that as he spoke. He said, “As I’m getting older, I’m starting to notice that those little injuries I sustained as a kid and young adult” weren’t shaken off. At the time, he thought he walked away unscathed. But now, if he sits for some time, he gets “chronic” aches and pains.
Resting Makes It Worse
Matt Brown feels pain if he “stands for too long. Additionally, he admitted ruefully, that “resting makes it worse.” So “nowadays,” he tries to “push through it,” taking care not to “aggravate the problem.”
ABP fans thought that it would be better to exercise. One of them also suggested, “Staying mobile is important but you gotta work on strengthening your core. If your core is strong, it can really help when your back ‘goes’, if you know what I mean. I find putting a pillow under my knees at night really helps.”
Another Alaskan Bush People fan wrote, “I know that feeling about posture. if I walk far my back begins to ache and need to rest up a bit. old age is upon me but I try to push through it. I just keep taking the vitamins to help with it 😂.”
Are you sad to hear that Matt Brown struggles with chronic pain, especially in his back? Time catches up with everyone, and mobility gradually erodes.
