Southern Charm fans are not feeling JT in Season 9 and they have no problem expressing their disdain. He has joined the crew this year and has consistently proven why he is unlikable. So, what are the main problems with him? Read on for more details on the 38-year-old mama’s boy.

Southern Charm Why Fans Aren’t Loving JT

Season 9 has kicked off and there is a lot to digest. Taylor Ann Green is throwing out cheating accusations because she is hurt over her Shep Rose breakup. At the same time, it seems that she and Austen Kroll may have had their own playtime behind everyone’s back. Yet, the person who feels the most comfortable bringing it up and stirring the pot is none other than newcomer JT. He is buddies with Shep and Craig as well as Austen but he seems to rub viewers the wrong way. In the latest episode, he woke up, completely hungover. He was then seen giving himself his insulin shot through his pants.

JT proceeded to FaceTime with his mother with fans quickly seeing that he is a hardcore mama’s boy and not in a sweet or cute way. Though he has been married before, it does not look like he is ready for anything serious right now. Fans quickly took to Twitter to express their dislike for the Southern Charm real estate mogul.

A Reddit thread was also started to discuss how much JT is disliked. The OP asked: “Who is JT and why the heck is he being foisted on us this season?!??” Fellow Redditors proceeded to compare him to Pettigrew from Harry Potter and Beans from Even Stevens. Another noted he was comparable to Shane Simpson from RHOC, as well. Others just think that he came in to stir the pot and knows exactly what he is doing all along.

Getting To Know JT

JT shared on Southern Charm that he learned a lot about business from his mother. However, fans were appalled when they first showed his home. It was a catastrophe but they also took exception to his excessive drinking with diabetes. As of now, it seems that everything he does rubs viewers the wrong way. He is a whistleblower and a pot stirrer but the cast is messy. It will be interesting what other drama he pulls out.

  1. I like JT. He fits right in with the crap-stirring boys who’re already there. He has an actual focus-skill-profession in life–and it includes interior gorgeous designs! His mom is the bomb (design-wise and Mom-wise). He doesn’t take health too seriously, like those sickening people who just thrive in the culture of illness. I loved the moment he jabbed the needle through his pants. It’s something I would do. And he probably doesn’t do it often, except maybe in cases such as being hung over. He’s a looker. A go-getter. And he recognized that Taylor was a keeper (I’m guessing he’s a Capricorn; they appreciate we Libran people). Yes, he’s messy. Not dirty but cluttered. The Bravo fan kids need to expand their respective, limited vocabularies. Can’t wait to see if Taylor comes to appreciate him. Welcome, JT! You’re a cut way above the common denominator that dislikes you. (PS I disagree about bro and girl code; imo, it should apply ONLY if your friend is truly wrecked, and Shep is not. With him it’s merely ego. Single people are FREE!)

  2. wtf i LOVE JT, y’all all suck and don’t know good. saying clearly. He’s perfect for the show; there wouldn’t be half the crazy ass scenes as there were if he wasn’t in the season.

  3. He’s an arrogant little Mama’s Boy!! Where the heck did, he come from and why is he there? Does anyone even need to have him around? He seems to antagonize everyone, except his mother. Do the people on Southern Charm really like him? Little Man Syndrome for sure and wants to make a name for himself, it’s embarrassing!
