My 600-lb Life alum Dottie Perkins appeared in the show struggling with her weight. She scaled 669 pounds and was hospitalized numerous times due to her unhealthy diet. Due to this, she sought Dr. Now’s help in the hopes of changing her life. She had a successful journey with the bariatric surgeon. But she left the show with some controversial claims. My 600-lb Life: Dottie Perkins’ Weight Loss Journey

Dottie had a remarkable weight loss story. She lost enough weight to qualify for bariatric surgery and eventually dropped 149 lbs, bringing her down to 520 pounds. However, the My 600-lb Life alum continued to work even harder and scaled under 300 pounds. She has suffered from weight gain since turning 19, making her journey with Dr. Now something to be proud of.

She has kept in touch with the fans on social media. Though she has yet to share her current weight since appearing on the reality show. In January 2022, Dottie surprised fans with a stunning selfie. Many of her photos also show that she has kept a healthy weight throughout the years.

Dottie’s Controversial Claims Against The Show

Dottie went after the production company of My 600-lb Life after the show. She sued Megalomedia and claimed that they misinterpreted her story. The former TLC star also accused the producers of not paying the hospital bills despite their promise to cover them. This made her the sixth star of the franchise to sue the company for a similar reason. There hasn’t been any update regarding her allegations. But it seems Dottie Perkins is more focused on her son, who’s currently fighting an illness.

My 600-lb Life: Dottie Perkins Suffers Heartbreaking Loss

Dottie suffered a heartbreaking loss during the show. Her son died in 2016 which brought her back to an unhealthy lifestyle. But she fought hard and eventually got herself back on track. Unfortunately, the heartbreak didn’t end there. At this point, the My 600-lb Life alum has been seeking financial help for her son, Landon, who has ADHD and autism.

Additionally, she was bedridden due to Distal Heart Failure, low blood pressure, and UTI. She also added that her husband, Chris, hasn’t been able to work full-time as he takes care of her and their child. Many have also shown support for the former reality TV personality. Others even suggested fundraisers and charities that might help with her condition.
