‘DWTS’ Tried For Controversial ‘RHOBH’ Love Triangle
DWTS is first and foremost a dancing competition, but producers also love to throw some drama and showmances into the mix. Each and every season, there’s a little bit of rumored backstage drama to keep viewers interested and watching. This season, producers allegedly tried to stir the pot with the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills contestant, Mauricio Umansky.
While their efforts ultimately proved to be unsuccessful, viewers agree their plans would have made for very interesting content. What exactly did the DWTS executive team have in mind?
The DWTS team allegedly wanted a steamy love triangle on set
RHOBH stars Mauricio Umansky and Kyle Richards issued a joint statement confirming that they’ve hit a rough patch in their marriage. However, the pair both seem determined to keep things amicable.
After revealing that he would join DWTS Season 32, Mauricio confirmed that Kyle and their daughters were delighted to hear the news.
“They were so excited,” the 53-year-old reality star told Good Morning America. “My girls, my wife, everybody is gonna be there [to see me dance]. And we’re gonna have a ton of fun.”
But if the DWTS producers had their way, Mauricio Umansky would likely be preparing for a wild ride behind the scenes.
TMZ reports that the Dancing With The Stars team also wanted Kyle Richards and her friend Morgan Wade to join the cast. Both women passed up the opportunity and are now shooting Morgan’s documentary in Paris.
RHOBH fans know that Kyle and Morgan are incredibly close. And according to rumors, they might even be romantically involved. Fans won’t get to see a sensuous love triangle play out on stage this year, but the DWTS team likely has other storyline ideas planned out.
Mauricio Umansky and Emma Slater hope to take home the Mirrorball Trophy
Now that the full Season 32 cast list is out, fans are actively speculating who has the best shot at the championship. Mauricio Umansky and his partner Emma Slater might not be many viewers’ top picks, but anything could happen.
Back in Season 30, many DWTS fans were surprised that NBA star Iman Shumpert ended up winning the entire competition. Mauricio Umansky could definitely win if he’s willing to put in the hard work.
And it seems like Kyle and Morgan will proudly cheer Mauricio on, even if they weren’t eager to join in themselves.
What do you think would have happened if Morgan Wade and Kyle Richards agreed to join DWTS this season? How far will Mauricio Umansky and Emma Slater make it this year? Share what you think in the comments below.
Catch the Dancing With The Stars Season 32 premiere at 8 PM on Tuesday, September 26 on ABC. You won’t want to miss a second of the competition.
