What’s going on in Ethan Plath’s life?
Welcome to Plathville viewers have witnessed several ups and downs in the 25-year-old’s life. The show has documented the intense drama between Ethan’s wife, Olivia, and his parents, Kim and Barry. All sides don’t see eye to eye, causing lots of conflict. This has forced Ethan to choose whether to be on his wife’s team or his parents’ team. Because he’s chosen to stand by his wife, he’s been treated poorly by his family. At times, he hasn’t been allowed to see his youngest siblings.
In the Season 5 trailer, the eldest Plath son admitted that he was feeling distraught as his parents and siblings turned on him.
Over the past five seasons, fans have noticed Ethan’s sparkle beginning to dull. They feel that he was fun and free in the first season, which is when he tried his first Coca-Cola. But now, he’s changed drastically, and it’s left viewers feeling upset.

On Reddit, fans are often discussing the show and have a lot of insight to share. As we reported, fans recently chatted about how Olivia might be projecting her own family’s troubles onto the Plaths. Now, Reddit users are talking about Ethan’s life and sharing how sad they are for him.
One fan is currently watching Season 3 and is comparing Ethan’s behavior at that point to who he was back in Seasons 1 and 2. The fan called Olivia out for being “manipulative” and a “master emotional manipulator.”
Then, the Welcome to Plathville viewer said, “He is a completely different person at the start of season 3, and I think it has less to do with Kim and more to do with the fact that his wife has strong-armed him into doing things he is uncomfortable with and it has worn him down. To see the innocent joy he once exuded totally wiped is heartbreaking.”
Many are now comparing Olivia to Kim and see a lot of similarities. One fan commented, “Yes! He married his mom. Controlling and manipulative. That’s all Olivia knows how to be. That’s how she was raised.”
