Kim Plath’s social media activity catches fans’ attention.
On WTP, Kim and Barry made it clear that they and their kids aren’t aware of pop culture references, don’t use social media, and overall live pretty sheltered lives. Over the past couple of years, they’ve loosened their restrictions. Some of the kids are active on social media and are stepping out to live their lives differently.
But at this point, Kim doesn’t have an Instagram, Facebook, or any other social media profiles with her real name on them.
Welcome to Plathville fans have dug up a Facebook page that appears to belong to Kim. It features several photos of her, as well as snaps of her with her kids.
However, rather than using her real name, she goes by the name Shannon Rose on this profile. You can see her page below. It’s also possible this profile is fake.
Kim’s boyfriend, Ken Palmer, has tagged Shannon Rose in his posts on Facebook, and they look pretty cozy. Shannon Rose has also promoted Isaac Plath’s lawncare company, suggesting this account truly does belong to Kim.
Did the Welcome to Plathville mom change her identity?
It’s unclear what exactly is going on her. But it looks like Kim is simply using a fake name for her Facebook profile. This could have something to do with her wanting more privacy after being on TLC. On Reddit, fans are discussing possible theories. One noted that she could have been cheating on Barry prior to their divorce and that’s why she started using various names on Facebook.
Others simply think she’s become “unhinged” since splitting from Barry. Another agreed that she’s a “mess” these days.
While it’s possible Kim changed her identity, it looks like she’s just using a fake name on Facebook for some reason. This isn’t the first of her social media accounts that fans have discovered. She may have switched her name again to stay out of the spotlight. Or maybe this is a fake account created by a fan.
