Hoda Kotb Abruptly Leaves ‘Today’ Show
Hoda Kotb abruptly left Today on Wednesday. While she typically sticks around for her full shift on the morning talk show, she had to leave well before it came to an end. This caught viewers by surprise. What’s going on with Hoda? Will she be coming back? Keep reading for all of the details.
Over the past couple of weeks, there have been several hosts missing from the talk show. Hoda has been out here and there, sparking concern among fans. Fortunately, she made her return this week and proved to fans that she’s doing well. She also shared a social media post about the final days of summer.

Fans were thrilled to see Hoda back in her usual seat on Tuesday, September 5. Unfortunately, just one day after returning, Hoda had to step out in the middle of the show. On Wednesday, September 6, she didn’t hang around very long. Naturally, this raised questions among fans who wanted to make sure she was okay.
Why did she have to leave Today early?
Luckily, all is well, despite her skipping part of the show on Wednesday. She actually had a very good reason to miss a little bit of time. Her daughters, Hope, 4, and Haley, 6, had their first day of school on Wednesday, and of course, the proud mom wouldn’t miss it for the world.
After Hoda abruptly left, her co-hosts, Craig Melvin and Savannah Guthrie, offered an explanation. Craig and Savannah chatted about an upcoming interview with Simone Biles. Craig said, “Hoda, of course, had to leave a little early because it’s the first day of school. But rest assured, she’ll be back in plenty of time for that tomorrow.”
Then, Savannah added, “She would not miss it!”

So far, Hoda hasn’t shared any pictures of her daughters on their first day of school. But she did share a couple of posts about heading back to school. In one post, she showed Today fans that her daughters were getting their back-to-school haircuts. Below, you can see the cute photos of Haley and Hope.

Then, on Wednesday, as she prepared to send her girls to school, she shared a quote from Dr. Seuss. You can read it below.
