Bruno Tonioli In Tears Over Len Goodman’s Last Message
Although Bruno Tonioli dearly misses his friend, Len Goodman, the pair reportedly shared a beautiful final farewell.
Dancing With The Stars fans felt absolutely heartbroken when Len Goodman passed away back in April. Many fans knew he previously struggled with health issues. After he retired at the end of Season 31, many suspected he knew his health was worsening.
Many of Len’s DWTS costars knew he was ill, but not to the extent. As DWTS Season 32 approaches, Bruno Tonioli is fondly remembering his time with his old friend.
See what he had to say.
Bruno Tonioli knew Len Goodman’s health was declining
Len Goodman knew that it was time to take a step back from the ballroom. When he officially retired from DWTS last fall, his fans and colleagues flooded social media with positive words and well-wishes. He sadly passed away on April 22, 2023, just days away from his 79th birthday.
Although many feel heartbroken about Len’s passing, he definitely isn’t forgotten. This week, fellow judge Bruno Tonioli reflected on their friendship and last goodbye.
“I knew [he was sick.] He told me,” Bruno admitted during an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark. “I knew well before and he wanted to be completely private and I totally [understand].”
The DWTS judge that Len Goodman sent him a very sweet last email just before his death.
“Then it ended with a ‘Thank you,'” Bruno told the Live hosts, before tearing up. “I actually, I can’t [speak about it] because Len would hate doing this. He’d be like, ‘Oh, get up, Bruno. You’re a lucky man and we had a great life. We had a great time, enjoy! Make every day count and have a good time.’ And that’s his spirit, so we have to celebrate him because the life he would want is [that].”

The show must go on.
Len Goodman is fondly remembered by those who knew him
Many other Dancing With The Stars figures spoke fondly of Len Goodman after his passing, even Tom Bergeron. Sadly, the former host didn’t find out about Len’s death until the news hit the media.
“I woke up this morning to a text from my sister, and it said, ‘Sorry to hear about Len,’ and that’s the first that I had heard or read about it, so then I went online and saw the numerous stories of his passing,” Tom Bergeron told ET back in April.
