The Masked Singer is coming back for its anniversary 10th season and the show plans to change its format once again. This is actually great news for fans, as the changes fix one of the biggest complaints from fans for the last two seasons of the show.

Here is a look at the changes to the format and what this means for the new season.

The Masked Singer changes format once again

The Masked Singer is coming back for its 10th season. For the anniversary, the show plans some big formatting changes. This is great news for fans. The show changed a couple of seasons ago to a format where three singers came out each week and performed. One singer unmasked halfway through, getting one chance to sing before fans saw their identity. A second singer unmasked at the end, meaning only one person moved on in each episode.

This disappointed fans. One of the best parts of The Masked Singer is guessing who is under the costume. This comes from the singing as well as the clues packages. In the past, there would be singers moving on in multiple weeks and more clues would be added to their packages, making the guessing game as fun as the performances. That didn’t exist in teh last two seasons.

In the new season, the format changes. Much like the last two seasons, the masked singers will split into three groups. Each week, the three groups of singers face off and then there is a Battle Royale semi-final episode for each group. Also, a wild card contestant will return for each group to shake things up. The “Ding Dong Keep It On” Bell is back, but can only be used one time this season – and only in the Battle Royale episodes. That person goes straight to the FInals.

The Masked Singer promises one of the biggest unmaskings in history

There have not been many costumes unveiled yet. So far, only five costumes have been unveiled out of the 16 costumes. They are Donut, Anteater, Hawk, Hibiscus, and S’More. This week, there was a brand-new costume revealed called Anonymouse. This was a female mouse in a red dress, black leather jacket, and knee-high black boots. She also had a red bandana tied around her mouse ears.

Anonymouse will sing in the very first episode of The Masked Singer Season 10. She will be singing the Heart song “What About Love?” Fox also promises that the episode will have “one of the biggest, can’t-miss unmaskings in the show’s history” (via People).
