‘Live’ Kelly Ripa’s Husband Pushes Wife To Relive Trauma
During a recent segment on Live with Kelly and Mark, Kelly Ripa had to relive some difficult memories from her childhood. What exactly happened to bring it all to the surface?
Live fans know that Mark and Kelly always introduce fun, relevant segments to keep their audience members engaged. And during one back-to-school segment, it seems like the topic really triggered Kelly.
Most people can think of one traumatic incident during their school days. But Kelly Ripa confessed that her painful experience was a regular occurrence.

Many schools across the country are back in session. As a result, Live with Kelly and Mark did a segment on school lunches. But as Mark Consuelos began to read off a list of the top lunch items, Kelly began to get a little upset.
It appears that the segment brought up some horrifying childhood memories.
“Did you have a not-so-tasty lunch?” Mark asked his wife after seeing her reaction.
“You know these stories,” Kelly reminded him before sharing with the audience. “My mom would make our school lunches the night before…but you truly haven’t lived through the horror of a school lunch until one of my mom’s.”
The Live hostess revealed that her mother constantly made her “signature sandwich,” consisting of cream cheese and grape jelly on white bread. On top of that, Kelly Ripa’s mother apparently made the sandwiches the night before, so they would generally be mushy the following day.
Apparently, Kelly’s mother would also place the sack lunch in the fridge next to a half-chopped onion. The smell would often permeate the sack and make the sandwich smell.
The actress described it as a “cream cheese and jelly, onion-scented, slime sandwich.”
“Yeah, every time we talk about school lunches here, I get upset. I get traumatized,” she admitted.
The Live hosts prepare to share new content with fans
Although the school lunch segment wasn’t quite so fun and positive, Live fans can look forward to new and exciting content. The daytime talk show hosts revealed that a brand new season of Live will be out on September 5.
Over on Instagram, fans couldn’t help but share their delight.
