‘OutDaughtered’ Did TLC Go Too Far With Cringey, Gross Topic?
OutDaughtered fans think that TLC might have gone too far with a cringey, gross topic on the show. Fans have been a part of the Busby family’s lives for nine seasons, and this includes many private moments. However, the network is now being accused of crossing a line. What are fans talking about, specifically? Keep reading for all of the details.
OutDaughtered fans get up close & personal with the Busbys.
Because the Busbys have been on TLC for nine seasons now, fans have watched Blayke, Hazel, Ava, Olivia, Riley, and Parker grow up. This includes milestones, including the girls being potty-trained. This is a private moment in the girls’ lives that TLC featured on the show. While some found it entertaining, others were not impressed. They think it was gross and cringey for TLC to exploit the girls in this way.
Did TLC go too far with this gross & cringey topic?
Of course, potty training isn’t the issue. It’s a normal part of life, and many parents can relate to the Busbys. The problem fans have is that it was shown to many people via the show. Not everyone wanted to hear the girls’ bathroom talk or see this private part of their lives.
On Reddit, one fan took a trip down memory lane, reflecting on the older episodes of the show. They said, “All the poop talk is cringy. They did those episodes during the potty training season and I thought it was in poor taste to revisit that. If I were one of those girls, when I’m a teenager I’m not happy with my parents.”
Another added, “The season finale was the nail in the coffin for me. I cringed at all the clips of the girl’s potty-training and “poop” talk, and couldn’t help but think about how the girls will feel about that when they are older.”
As we’ve reported, fans have recently expressed their outrage over the newest season of the show. While some still enjoy the show, many others are upset about the way Adam and Danielle treat each other, how boring the show has gotten, and more. Fans are certainly interested in seeing how much longer it goes on.
It’s worth noting that fans also follow the Busbys on social media and get a peek at some intimate parts of their lives there. So, TLC may not be totally responsible.
So, do you think that TLC took it too far by showing the girls being potty-trained? Do you agree that these moments are gross, cringey, and shouldn’t be shown on TV? Sound off in the comments section below, and come back to TV Shows Ace for more news about the OutDaughtered stars.

I really enjoy outdaugtered. I adore the girls, and would love to be friends with their parents, and inlaws. I cannot be easy to do all they all do, and I love every minute. Wish I could be there with them. My second husband and I put two families together, so we had five teenagers at one time. We were both teachers, and we both loved kids. I wish I could go back to those days. They were crazy, tiring, frustrating, etc., etc., etc. I would do it all again. Hope your family just enjoys every day because time goes way too fast.
