Trace & Lydia Bates offer an update on their baby’s health.

Over the past couple of weeks, Trace and Lydia have done a good job of keeping fans updated on their baby’s health. They will welcome their first child, a boy named Ryker Cruise, to the world next month. Unfortunately, they’ve recently learned that he’s growing slower than their doctor expected him to.

Fortunately, he’s healthy. But he’s much smaller than he should be at this point. In their most recent YouTube video, the Bates couple informed fans that she may need to be induced early. This is because he’s no longer benefitting from being in the womb because he’s not growing. So, an induction may be necessary soon. In the meantime, she’s going to lots of doctor’s appointments.

Bringing Up Bates fans express serious concern.

In the comments section of Lydia’s new video, her followers are questioning her decision to go on this trip, especially after she learned she will likely need to be induced early. One said, “Really don’t think you should be flying to Arizona when your baby is so small and will be delivered early. Not really a wise choice at this point in your pregnancy.”

Someone else chimed in, “Very bad decision to travel at this point when baby could stop moving and need to be delivered. Could’ve gotten a local hotel room with a pool for a girls’ overnight so close to hospital.”

Another fan added, “I always thought pregnant women should not travel after 6 months? Maybe that was back in the day.”

According to the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologyit’s generally safe to fly until 37 weeks of pregnancy, and most airlines will allow this. The guidelines are different depending on whether it’s one baby or multiple or if there are any issues.

Due to Lydia likely needing to be induced early, fans are wondering if this was the best choice. Hopefully, nothing bad happens and she got approval from her doctor to take this trip.
