‘Golden Bachelor’ Gerry Turner Premiere Date Announced
The Golden Bachelor is finally coming to television this fall and the premiere date has just been announced. Gerry Turner (72) is the first-ever lead for the senior spin-off of the hit reality dating show, The Bachelor. Since the idea of the show was introduced before the pandemic fans have been anxious to see it come to life. It’s happening! When will The Golden Bachelor premiere?
The Golden Bachelor went to their official social media outlets to share when fans can see Gerry Turner begin his journey. ABC has released details that the premiere of The Golden Bachelor will be on September 28. The show is making a move from its usual Monday night spot to now appearing on Thursday evenings.
The official Instagram page said, “He raised his girls to shine. Starting September 28, it’s his turn. ✨ Watch Gerry’s journey Thursdays at 8/7c on ABC. Stream on Hulu.”
In the video that accompanies the announcement, Gerry is seen speaking to his two daughters about what he hopes to get out of the show. They noted that he needs to work on his texting skills. The two women reminded him that when he started texting he would sign it “Dad.” They laughed and said they know who it is.
As for what Gerry is looking for, he has a plan to ask the right questions. He said, “I’m thinking, ‘What are the characteristics I’m looking for? How do you like to spend your spare time? Do you like adventure? Do you like to cook?’ Like, we have such a good time in the kitchen.”
He went on to say that he hopes to find that special person he’s searching for. Gerry said, “I want to find that person that I know is the right one. I know you guys have always wanted me to be happy and that one person is out there somewhere that will do that.”

He wants to find love after losing wife Toni
Gerry lost his wife six years ago and is ready to find someone to spend his time with. He isn’t looking for what he had with his late wife. He knows that’s not right. However, he wants to find the right person.
Plus, The Golden Bachelor knows that Toni would be cheering him on and wants him to be happy.
Fans everywhere are excited about this breath of fresh air within The Bachelor franchise. Many feel this new senior spinoff could be what saves the show from self-destruction.
