‘Sister Wives’ Kody Brown Drastic Views On Plural Marriage Now
Rumors about Sister Wives Season 18 suggested that Kody Brown and his remaining wife, Robyn would frantically continue to pursue plural marriage. Speculation had fans expecting the monogamous couple to rush off in search of a new wife. After Christine Brown left, Janelle kicked her spiritual husband to the curb, and Meri packed her bags. But is he desperate to marry another spiritual wife and live a polygamous life again? Read on to find out.
The Comeuppance Of Kody Brown In Sister Wives Season 18
August has been fascinating for fans of Sister Wives as so much already gets unpacked in previews, teasers, and the trailer. Touted as the best season yet, that might actually come true. While Season 17 was all about Christine leaving, this season fans can’t wait to see everything play out with Janelle. Delighted fans chat all the time on social media about how she cussed him out. Everyone wants to see the patriarch finally get his comeuppance and nobody wants to see him looking for another wife.
Kody Brown wasn’t born into a polygamist family, so sometimes, fans of the TLC show wonder why he bothered with the lifestyle. If you don’t know, his mom and dad were in the Mormon church, but he was the one who decided to flip to fundamentalist Mormonism. Apparently, he liked the idea of spiritual rewards in Heaven if he raised busloads of kids and kept his four wives happy. Unfortunately, he seems to have failed on at least three or four counts.
Will Kody Brown Strive To Remain Polygamous?
Speaking with People, the TLC star admitted that the entire dissolution of his family was “heartbreaking.” Using the analogy of drowning, he felt that he hit the bottom of the pain pool. Now that he’s turning around and reaching for the surface, is he planning on a second shot at polygamy? Apparently, not. He said, “The idea of ever marrying again after the experience I’ve had, there’s no reason for me to do that.”
Kody Brown seemed surprisingly calm in his interview which you can watch further down in this article. Unlike his raging bad-tempered face that fans saw in the teasers, he seemed to have accepted his three wives have gone forever. Reconciliatory, he said, “…hoping that we move forward with a lot of forgiveness.” He added, that his vision is that they will “find a place where love and grace prevail again.”
TLC Fans Comment
Fans who watched the interview seem unwilling to forgive as quickly as he apparently did. One of them wrote, “Forgiveness? Are you kidding me?! He treated his wives and kids like crap all while favoring Robin (sic).”
Another viewer opined, “He talks about regret and looking back yet he still won’t apologize directly to those he treated horribly. I don’t believe he is truly remorseful. He seems to care more to listen to himself talk, have others listen, but to never learn or listen to others with empathy. Kody is repugnant to me.”
Clearly, Kody Brown seems a bit shattered that his polygamy dream imploded. Are you surprised to hear that he wants to move on and find forgiveness? Do you think he really gave up the dream of living with more than one wife? Let us know your thoughts and watch Sister Wives on August 20th on TLC.
