Kaitlyn Bristowe Shares More Insight Into Jason Tartick Split
Bachelor Nation was disappointed when former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jason Tartick ended their engagement. The couple had been together for four years. When they split they shared it was important they remain friends. Both have noted how hard it has been and both have been emotional over the breakup. Now, Kaitlyn is sharing a little more insight into why they split. Keep reading to find out more.
Kaitlyn Bristowe shares deeper insight into Jason Tartick split
Kaitlyn Bristowe shared more on her Off the Vine podcast about her split with Jason Tartick. Fans have been trying to place blame on one or the other. Now, Kaitlyn is setting the record straight.
She shared that nothing bad happened. Kaitlyn said, “I think people assume if people break up, something bad happened. And I think that’s the hardest part of this whole breakup — nothing bad happened. It’s just been over time. We have both not made each other a priority. And this is what happens.”
She also mentioned that through the breakup she has never respected anyone as much as she does Jason. While even their family and friends would like to see them reconcile, both Kaitlyn and Jason know that this was a necessary step for them.
She noted that they are essentially grieving the loss of their relationship. It’s hard and emotional on them both.
Who knows what the future holds
Kaitlyn also mentioned that they don’t know what the future holds. In another interview she had said the door is not permanently closed. To make their split even harder, she shared that Jason is actually living down the street from her in Nashville.
They are coparenting their dogs Pinot and Ramen so this made sense so they could both spend time with them. She said, “I’m going to see him because we’re going to share the dogs, but I can’t, like, be with him in the way that I’m used to.
Kaitlyn continued to say, “And it’s probably so confusing for people, because they’re like, ‘Why aren’t you just together then?’ Like, if people can just trust in what we’re doing and where our hearts are, and be supportive. … Maybe in six months from now, we go, ‘Yeah, this was the right move.’ And maybe in six months, we go, ‘You know what, I want to choose you.’ But we haven’t been choosing each other.”
The former lead also noted that she and Jason have been choosing themselves over each other. When the right person is found then that person will become the priority and they haven’t been doing that.
Even if they do not reconcile down the road, they have both vowed to keep their friendship in tact and have nothing but love and admiration for one another.
