What Is Hallmark’s Mystery Island About?

Hallmark has a highly anticipated new mystery. This is called Mystery Island. Here is what it is all about. According to the synopsis, Dr. Emilia Priestly is a London Police psychiatrist who is overworked and burnt out.

Because she is so exhausted, she realizes that she needs to get out of town, to get some needed rest and nature. Therefore, her wealthy friend, Baroness Jane Alcott (Kezia Burrows) invites her to a unique and relaxing experience. The Baroness invites Emilia to Mystery Island.

Mystery Island is a resort that boasts an “immersive murder-mystery-themed” experience at the resort. Most of all, this is an elegant resort. It is beachside, with one of the nicest vistas on the island. But, this is not the only perk. On this particular trip, the resort is hosting a very special event. Most of all, this is a special mystery for the program’s original investors.

Finally, the mystery begins, but is immediately paused. That is because John Murtaugh (Robert Getman), the owner, is murdered. Murtaugh was a reclusive owner and rarely in public. Therefore, it is a shock to all.

Now, all the guests, including the original investors, cannot leave the island until this mystery is solved. Thankfully, Jason Trent, the local detective, is thorough and smart. He knows that containing this group will be a challenge. That means he has to solve the mystery promptly.

Thankfully, he gets some professional help, as Emilia can quickly prove she is innocent. Now, she can use her skills and help solve this murder.

The lines between game and reality are blurred as they unravel the web of romance, revenge, and betrayal behind the resort, its guests, and its elusive founder.

What Is The DNA Between Hallmark’s Mystery 101 And Mystery Island?

Hallmark Mystery 101 fans should be interested to learn that Mystery Island has similar DNA to Mystery 101. That is because Mystery Island scribe John Christian Plummer is also the  Mystery 101 screenwriter. In addition, he has written the scripts for two of the three new Curious Caterer Mysteries.

Subsequently, that means clever scripts and smart characters. An Anglophile, Plummer is a huge Agatha Christie fan and enjoys the psychological part of mysteries. Mystery Island promises to be a rich and complex mystery that will entertain Sleuthers.
