‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Vanna White Plays Hardball With Negotiations
Wheel of Fortune mainstay and co-host Vanna White is now playing hardball when it comes to contract negotiations. As many viewers know, WoF host Pat Sajak will be leaving after next season, his 41st. Yet, White’s future with the popular game show is unclear. Though they have a replacement for Sajak, it has not been said if the show will get a full revamp. That would mean ditching Vanna, as well. So, what is she looking for exactly? Read on for more details.
Wheel Of Fortune Vanna White Plays Hardball With Negotiations
Pat Sajak and Vanna White are synonymous with one another. He has hosted Wheel of Fortune since 1981 and she had been turning the letters almost as long. They bounce off of one another so it is really hard to imagine a time when they will not be together. Sadly, that time is just around the corner, come 2024. Ryan Seacrest will attempt to fill Sajak’s shoes, the ones he filled for Chuck Woolery but it will take some time. Vanna is clearly feeling the transition and, apparently was actually hurt that she was not the one to take over the hosting gig.
This does make sense seeing as Vanna White arrived one year after Pat Sajak did. Therefore, she knows the show just as well as he does. Though some fans have been pushing for her to leave when he does, she is now pushing for a pay raise, per People. Allegedly, she wants to make at least fifty percent of what Pat Sajak makes. However, that is now seemingly untrue. According to an insider: “50 percent of Pat’s salary is so outrageous that no one in their right mind could say that it’s fair. The negotiation is asking for much more than 50 percent of his salary. It’s asking for the same pay — if not more.”
Additionally, the insider shared that Vanna’s salary has held steady for the last eighteen years at three million dollars. For White, imagining a future without Pat by her side has been really unimaginable. She even compared them to Ken and Barbie, you cannot have one without the other. It is yet to be seen if she will remain on with Ryan Seacrest or if she will get the increase she deserves.
Fans Support Vanna
Right now, there are a lot of balls in the air when it comes to the show. It seems like they are actively trying to figure out how to transition from Pat Sajak to Ryan Seacrest. More so, they need to know if Vanna White can work well with Seacrest as she did with Sajak. However, fans are in support of her getting more money. They took to Twitter to share their thoughts. “They absolutely should have paid her more than this new contract will pay her. Unfair!” one wrote. Another added: “Poor vanna white.” Fans appear to want her to get exactly just what she deserves.

I think $3M a year for what she does is ridiculous. Then again, $15M in pay for what Sajak does is over the top as well.
I earned 3 college degrees, worked for a Fortune 500 as a professional and manager for 37 years and never made what she does in one year!
Vanna did an admirable job for so many yrs. She agreed for all those years to the contracts, which seemed very generous Give her a 3 yr. contract, at 6 million a year for the 3 years. If she doesn’t want that I’m sure people in the unemployment line would love to look at her. Another bubbly, pretty, smiley Lady will gladly take her place. In a few months she will be forgotten, as most of them are.
Agreed, both personalities for Wheel of Fortune are overpaid. We cannot understand how WofF show has remained on the air for 40 years compared to the previous program, Jeopardy. Can you really compare the two?
