‘Bringing Up Bates’ Real Reason Erin Bates Quit Boutique?
Bringing Up Bates fans are wondering what the real reason is behind Erin Bates Paine quitting working at the boutique. Erin originally started the Bates Sisters Boutique alongside her sister, Carlin Bates Stewart, and sister-in-law, Whitney Perkins Bates. However, Erin eventually left the boutique, leaving her sister and sister-in-law in charge.

The online store first launched in April 2019. It seems to be doing well, and so far, it has remained online only. They do have in-person warehouse sales here and there, however. Many of these changes came after Erin left.
Bringing Up Bates: Erin Bates parts ways.
In November 2021, Erin made an Instagram post announcing that she was leaving the boutique. She kept it vague, not going into detail about why exactly she left. She said:
“Although we have learned so much and have so many good memories from our time with BSB, God has been shifting our focus as a family, and we’ve been in the process of passing off our part in the business.”
Bringing Up Bates fans wonder why Erin really left.
On the Duggar Bates Confessions page on Instagram, a fan expressed why they think Erin left the boutique. In the post, the fan speculated, “Erin’s style is probably why she left the boutique.” They added, “They definitely are not on the same style page.”
Fans may have noticed that Whitney and Carlin often wear tank tops, jeans, shorter dresses, and other less modest clothing. They don’t show too much skin by mainstream standards, but they have stepped away from the Bates family’s strict modesty rules.
One Instagram user said, “When I heard about her leaving my first thought was that she believed it wasn’t modest enough.”
Someone else added, “Carlin and Whitney are going in a completely different direction and they are just so different from Erin and how she dresses. And Erin doesn’t seem to have the same interest or consumed with the latest styles.”
