NBA’s San Antonio Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama has broken his silence on the incident involving Britney Spears getting slapped by a member of his security detail. And, a video of what he had to say about the incident is making rounds on social media.

Turns out, the NBA player claims it wasn’t until hours later at the hotel that he learned the woman who tried to approach him only to be “pushed back” by his security was Britney Spears.

The member of the San Antonio Spurs admitted he thought his team was joking when they first told him. He also admitted he nearly forgot about the incident and enjoyed a wonderful meal as he assumed it was just an overzealous fan.

NBA’s Victor Wembanyama Breaks Silence On Britney Spears’ Slap

Victor Wembanyama explained that prior to going into the restaurant, his security team told him he was to keep moving until he gets to his table. He explained that he was told stopping to talk to fans would cause a crowd and a traffic jam. So, it was important to keep moving. The NBA player recalled hearing a female voice behind him saying “sir” several times presumably to get his attention. He also recalled being touched by the female but clarified it was not on the shoulder.

Victor Wembanyama, however, explains that he never stopped moving and never looked back to see what was going on. He continued to walk to his table and he had no idea how hard his security guard “pushed away” the female that was trying to get his attention.

As mentioned previously, the NBA player explains he had no idea it was Britney Spears as he was not informed of this until hours later back at the hotel. Check out the video of his statement down below:

Now, as those who know the original story, his security detail was very aware of who the woman was. After all, the security guard reportedly went over to Britney’s table and apologized for the incident.

Having such a protective fan base, many aren’t happy about Britney Spears getting assaulted by the security guard. Fans of the NBA star, however, argue the security guard was just doing his job by protecting Victor. It has been reported that Britney’s team did file a police report for battery.
