‘Bringing Up Bates’ Mama Jane Proves She’s Not Like The Others
Bringing Up Bates star Mama Jane is proving to fans that she’s not like the rest of the family. She made a major statement in the latest photo she appeared in on social media. Bringing Up Bates fans may recall seeing Mama Jane and Papa Bill on UPtv. They are Gil Bates’ parents and made appearances on the show from time to time. In addition, they’ve popped up on the kids’ Instagram pages, especially now that the show is over.

The Bringing Up Bates stars celebrate the 4th of July with Mama Jane & Papa Bill.
This week, many of the Bates family members are visiting Papa Bill and Mama Jane. They typically spend the 4th of July together. On social media, they shared photos as they traveled to South Carolina to visit Jane and Bill’s farm. It looks like they are making wonderful memories already.
One photo, in particular, caught fans’ attention.
Mama Jane proves she’s not like the others.
On Instagram, Lawson Bates shared a new photo of himself and his grandmother, Mama Jane. Note that it was posted to his Instagram Stories, so it expired after 24 hours. However, you can check it out below.
In the snap, the grandson stood beside his grandmother and they both smiled for a photo. Lawson wrote, “Love ya, Mama Jane.”

On Reddit, fans pointed out that Mama Jane is wearing a shirt that says, “Rosé all day.” As you may know, rosé is a type of wine, which comes as a surprise. The Bates family frowns upon alcohol consumption. It’s unclear where Mama Jane stands as she’s religious but is less strict than the rest of the family. But she could be sending a message by wearing this shirt and proving that she’s not like the others.
One Bringing Up Bates fan teased, “Good for her, she probably needs about a gallon after a family visit.” Someone else added, “Omg yes! I honestly feel like mama and papa Jane love some whiskey while they sit on the porch on that awesome property.”
When another fan asked if Mama Jane understands the meaning of this shirt, someone replied, “I bet she does. I think she and Papa Bill are religious, but not fundamentalist.”
Ultimately, there’s no way to know for sure what’s going on with Mama Jane’s shirt. It’s possible she just thought it was pretty or that she thought it was referencing roses, like the flowers.
