Taylor Swift Requests No Hate To Ex John Mayer
Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) will be released on July 7th. Swifties have been waiting for this album to be rerecorded and out for fans to enjoy. However, in last night’s show in Minneapolis, the 33-year-old performer, Taylor Swift, requested that fans not hate on her ex-John Mayer after the album drops.
Dear John (Taylor’s Version)
Swift plays two acoustic songs every night of her concert on the Eras Tour. Each night she plays two totally different songs and does not repeat many if any at all. At Taylor’s concert in Minneapolis on June 24th, the songwriter starts her introduction to her first surprise song.
“I was hoping to ask you, as we lead up to this album coming out, I would love for that kindness and that gentleness to extend onto our Internet activities, I’m putting this out now because I want to own my music and I believe that any artist who has the desire to own their music should be able to. That’s why I’m putting out this album, I’m 33 years old. I don’t care about anything that happened to me when I was 19, except the songs I wrote. … So, what I’m trying to tell you is that I’m not putting this album out so that you should go and feel the need to defend me on the internet against someone you think I might have written the song about 14 million years ago.”
Fans are happy that Swift has totally moved on and is past what happened between her and Mayer. Fans were almost worried Taylor Swift wouldn’t rerecord her Speak Now album soon due to her past and feelings about the certain album.

Songs About Exes
Everyone knows that Taylor Swift is known for writing songs about her exes. It’s a big reason why her fans love her music. Another ex of Taylor’s fans speculate is mentioned in her Speak Now album is Taylor Lautner with her song “Back to December.” Lautner and his wife are actually Swifties and support Taylor all the way. Lautner has even spoken out saying he “feels safe” because fans feel his one of her good ex-boyfriends.
Us Weekly reported that Jake Gyllenhaal received some backlash from fans after Swift’s Red (Taylor’s Version) album dropped. Fans speculated her song “All Too Well” (10-minute version) was about the actor and their previous relationship. No man is safe from Taylor’s fans if they hurt her in any way.

Swifties will support Taylor through and through. Maybe fans will listen to Swift’s request, but some fans feel as though Mayer will still receive backlash from the album. Taylor Lautner is in the clear though. Do you think Taylor Swift’s request will influence fans to not bully John Mayer on the internet? Sound off in the comments below.
