Ex Duggar friend Bobye Holt now has a 10-year restraining order. For years, she has been connected to the Duggar family, and her daughter even courted Josh. But now, she’s making headlines over this restraining order. Why was an order granted, and who is it against? What details have been revealed so far? Who are Jim & Bobye Holt?
Fans may recognize Bobye and her husband, Jim Holt, from the new docuseries, Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets. The couple shared part of their story with viewers as they are former friends of the Duggars. Their daughter, Kaeleigh Holt, courted Josh when they were both 14 years old.
Around this time, news of Josh’s molestation scandal broke, and Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar informed the Holts of what had happened. In the docuseries, Jim explained, “March 30, 2003, when we found out, I went out to the field and just bawled. He had apparently been doing it since the age of 12, but we found out about it when he was 15.”
In Josh’s recent child pornography trial, Bobye even testified against him.
Amid Josh’s trial, Bobye Holt claimed that she has not seen the Duggars in years and that she is no longer friends with them. But because she has so much history with them, fans are certainly intrigued by her side of the story.

This week, InTouch Weekly broke the news that Bobye Holt was granted a restraining order against her husband. The news outlet dug up these details in online records. It was filed on April 21, 2023.
There are very few details about Bobye’s restraining order against Jim. It’s unclear what caused this. At this time, it doesn’t look like Bobye and Jim have filed for divorce. But with the restraining order in place now, that may not be too far off.
Hopefully, Bobye is in a better place now and is doing okay amid these issues. It’s possible that more details will become available soon.
