Is 47-year-old actor Danny Masterson, known best for his role as Steven Hyde in That 70s Show getting special treatment behind bars?

That 70s Show and Netflix’s The Ranch star Danny Masterson is currently behind bars as he waits for the hammer to drop on his sentencing. Per an exclusive from TMZ, however, the 47-year-old actor is NOT being kept in gen pop. Instead, he’s being kept in the same location other high-profile inmates end up being locked up.

Now, many of those who have been following this story argue getting separated from gen pop is “special treatment” behind bars because of his celebrity status and believe this kind of separation shouldn’t happen.

70s Show: Danny Masterson Gets Special Treatment Behind Bars?

Speaking exclusively to TMZ, law enforcement affirms Danny Masterson is behind bars at the L.A. County Men’s Central Jail while he waits to receive his official sentencing after being found guilty of rape. He, however, is NOT in gen pop. Law enforcement confirms a decision was made for “administrative segregation” for the sake of his own safety.

TMZ goes on to explain this is a move commonly made anytime someone of celebrity status ends up behind bars because it puts them at a serious safety risk to toss them in with gen pop. Many following the story, however, don’t believe celebrities should get special treatment when they commit a crime.

Presently, Danny Masterson is reportedly locked up in the very same place several other high-profile inmates were including O.J. Simpson and Suge Knight, just to name a few.

He Was Found Guilty Of Rape

As previously reported, the actor was recently found guilty of two counts of rape. The jury, however, remained deadlocked on the third count of rape he faced. It took just a week for the jury to make a decision after his previous trial concluded as a mistrial.

Life behind bars doesn’t include a television in his cell for Danny Masterson, but he can reportedly enjoy reading books from the facility library. He, however, gets to leave his cell for two hours each day and venture to the day room where he can access a telephone and television. He is allotted just three hours of recreation a week and he can shower every other day. Danny, however, is allowed to shower on an off day if he’s slated for court.

Presently, Danny Masterson is due back in court on August 4th for his sentencing.

Per chatter on Twitter, there are some who disagree with his guilty verdict stating that it is “bananas” women can wait decades after being assaulted before bringing the assailant to justice. These individuals are clarifying they aren’t saying Danny is innocent. They are just having a hard time understanding how to concretely find someone guilty of something they allegedly did two decades ago.

Do you think the actor should be separated from gen pop because of his celebrity status? Or is this a form of special treatment that shouldn’t stand? Let us know in the comments down below. And, keep coming back for more TV news.
