What Could Hallmark Fans Expect In ‘Ride’ Season 2?
Now that the dust has cleared off of the wild Ride Season 1 finale episode, fans may wonder what could happen in Season 2 of the Hallmark series.
There are spoilers below for anyone who has not finished Season 1.
What Could Be Next For Hallmark’s Ride?
The final episode of Ride Season 1, entitled “Andalusians,” was explosive. The McMurray family rodeo drama gave fans some answers and a whole lot of new questions.
Cash (Beau Mirchoff) didn’t throw his ride in exchange for Tucker Clarke’s (Roger LeBlanc) bailing him out of jail. Instead, he went for it, and he even got to kiss his true love Missy (Tiera Skovbye) before she left Colorado.
Next, we find out why Austin (Marcus Rosner) needed money. It turns out that he fathered a child before his relationship with Missy.
Speaking to TV Line, Beau Mirchoff shared some of his predictions for the Hallmark series.
Firstly, regarding that big Cash and Missy moment, he reveals that “she’s not ready.”
Revealing that Missy is “everything to him,” he is willing to respect her need to sort through her emotions. But, “He wants nothing more than to be with Missy.”
Moreover, he predicted what will happen next. He believes that Missy going to Albuquerque is a way for her to take a “journey” alone, and sort through what she wants in life.
However, as a foreshadowing to Season 2, he does hint that Cash is going to have to be a waiter while Missy sorts out all of her emotions. But to him, Cash only has one woman on his mind, and that is Missy.
Has Hallmark Renewed Ride Season 2?
Will Ride fans get to see how this romance between Cash and Missy plays out? Currently, Hallmark has not renewed this series for Season 2. Right now, Ride fans will have to wait for the official announcement.
According to Beau Mirchoff, more viewers are discovering this series, and he finds that “really cool.” He also contends that sometimes shows take a little bit of time to find their audience. Calling it a “really great show,” he thinks Hallmark would be “silly not to give it a second chance.”
However, he does not want to “jinx” anything by assuming that Hallmark will renew.
It should also be noted that although the live Hallmark ratings are shared, we don’t know what the numbers are for Peacock viewers. Ride, as with all the other Hallmark premieres, streams on Peacock up to 72 hours after the premiere.
Will The Hallmark Series Need A New Showrunner?
One of the possible reasons that Hallmark has not announced a decision on Ride Season 2 is that the series will need a new showrunner.
According to an interview with Deadline, Sherri Cooper-Landsman was originally just brought in for the mini-room. The script was already ready, but they wanted the Brothers And Sisters showrunner involved at the beginning because of her experience with family drama.
Soon, she fell in love with the cast and the world of Ride. But, she does feel comfortable leaving it with the original creators, her co-showrunners Rebecca Boss and Chris Masi.
However, we don’t know whether Hallmark wants to bring in a third showrunner should they decide to renew for Season 2.
