Is ‘Maid’ Season 2 In The Works At Netflix?
Is Maid Season 2 in the works at Netflix? The first season captivated viewers and is still very popular on the streaming service nearly two years after its release date. Of course, fans would like to see the story continue. But at this point, a second season has not yet been released. An exciting announcement recently came out, revealing that there could be another season in the works. Keep reading for all of the details.
What is Maid about?
The Netflix Original series is based on the memoir Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive by Stephanie Land. The show and book follow a young mom named Alex who is trying to get out of an abusive relationship with her boyfriend, Sean. He’s also the father of her daughter, Maddy, 2.
Alex and Maddy attempt to leave Sean behind and start a new life for themselves, but it’s easier said than done. They are faced with many challenges along the way, struggling to find a place to stay with almost no money to their name.
It was initially created as a limited series, so Maid Season 2 has not seemed likely. However, there’s now a chance another season might be in the works at Netflix.
Is Maid Season 2 in the works at Netflix?
As What’s On Netflix reported, later this year, a sequel to Maid will hit the shelves, which could be a good sign for fans of the Netflix show. The new book, Class by Stephanie Land, is described as “the sequel & origin story of Maid.” It’s currently available for pre-order on Amazon and will come out on Nov. 7, 2023.
The book’s description reads, “Class paints an intimate and heartbreaking portrait of motherhood as it converges and often conflicts with personal desire and professional ambition. Who has the right to create art? Who has the right to go to college? And what kind of work is valued in our culture?”
Class is also described as “offering a searing indictment of America’s educational system and an inspiring testimony of a mother’s triumph against all odds.”
As of now, Netflix has not announced Maid Season 2. So, fans will have to wait and see what happens. But with the news of a second book and due to the series’ popularity, it’s possible the show will return. It may be a while, though, since the book won’t be out for a few more months.
