Former Counting On stars James, Jason, and Jana Duggar have ditched their parents, Jim Bob and Michelle. They decided to leave the Duggar parents behind in Arkansas and seek out bigger, better things. Typically, the Duggar kids don’t venture out on their own due to their family’s strict rules. Longtime Duggar fans will remember the family’s strict rules involving chaperones, modesty, and more. Many of the kids weren’t allowed to be with people of the opposite gender without supervision. They also spent a lot of time at home with their parents.
But now, several of the unmarried Duggar children have begun traveling without their parents. As we’ve reported, James documented his trip to Europe. The Duggar kids’ frequent traveling has raised some questions online as fans wonder how they can afford it and how they’re allowed to do this without their parents’ supervision.

Now, James, Jason, and Jana are off on another adventure. They left their parents and the rest of the family behind in Arkansas and went on a cruise. The trio appeared in an Instagram Stories post about the cruise, which was for a wedding. In the photo, the whole crew was dressed up in Hawaiian-themed clothing as they went to Mexico.

On Reddit, fans and critics reacted to this photo, discussing how the Duggar kids seem to be jobless but somehow continue funding these vacations. One fan speculated, “The trio of unmarried adult Duggar siblings (Jana, Jason, and James) are having a lot of fun together away from the pry eyes of Jim Bob and Michelle. This must have been a public relations stunt by Jim Bob in an attempt to repair the family’s reputation after Josh’s scandals forever tarnished the family image.”
Others are wondering whether James, Jana, and Jason are supposed to chaperone each other or if they might be “turning blind eyes” for each other instead.
