Just two days before the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries premiere of Carrot Cake Murder: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, Alison Sweeney has announced that there will be another new mystery in the series coming up. Yes, that means two movies.
According to a press release sent to TV Shows Ace, there is another installment in this franchise. A second movie will soon be made. Moreover, it is based on one of the 30 Joanne Fluke cozy mysteries.
This new movie is entitled A Zest For Death: A Hannah Swensen Mystery. Moreover, this book was picked specifically for more romance, mystery, and her wacky family.
A statement from the actress, and executive producer, accompanied the press release. This included her explanation why she chose to adapt this particular novel.
I love this book from Joanne Fluke and its adaption for TV because the mystery really leans into Hannah’s family dynamics, her sleuthing skills, and her romantic relationships.

The Scene That Alison Sweeney Looks Forward To Filming
Although Alison Sweeney is excited about Carrot Cake Murder: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, she is looking ahead to filming a specific scene in A Zest For Death. Speaking to TV Insider, Ali shared that there is a particular scene that she believes that “romantic mystery fans will love.”
I always imagined it would really be so cool to use the mysteries to further the romance, the way that they tie together. I always sort of thought ‘Oh, this would be clever to fit into a movie at some point.’ And I think we’re finally going to work it into the next one.
A Zest For Death is going to be Alison’s eighth time portraying Hannah Swensen. Therefore, the revelation that she is going to have such a special scene is very meaningful. That is because Hannah as a character is always growing. Moreover, the fans get to know the super sleuth better.
Also, it is so great to see that even after portraying this sleuther so many times, Alison still finds joy in playing this role.
