Michael & Amy Halterman Trying To Abandon New Puppy?
Wait — are Michael and Amy Halterman trying to get rid of the new pet they gave their boys?
Based on recent social media activity, it certainly seems like that is a possibility.
1000-Lb Sisters fans might recall that Michael and Amy gave their sons a new puppy over the Christmas holidays. The couple felt that their house was too empty after their old dog Little Bit passed away. According to Amy’s Instagram post, the new dog was a 2 1/2-year-old pomeranian chihuahua mix they opted to call Daisy Mae.
So what exactly happened to Daisy Mae? Keep reading to see what TV Shows Ace uncovered.
Michael and Amy Halterman give away the pet they got for Christmas
In the early seasons of 1000-Lb Sisters, fans routinely saw Little Bit appear in the background of several episodes. She was Amy Halterman’s beloved pet, but Tammy Slaton had a strong bond with the dog too.
Sadly, Little Bit passed away last spring due to old age. She was reportedly 22 years old at the time of her death. Although nothing could ever fully replace Little Bit, Michael and Amy Halterman decided to adopt Daisy Mae so they could have a dog in the home.
However, it seems like that was short-lived. About four months after bringing Daisy Mae home, the Haltermans started trying to rehome her. On Facebook, Michael Halterman made a public post asking for help finding the little dog a new home.
“Free to a good home message me if want,” Michael captioned his post. “2 year old female Sturgis KY.”
In the comments, many followers had questions. After all, the family only had the dog for a few months and she was a gift for their sons.
“Why can’t Amy take her?” one of Michael’s followers asked.
“She doesn’t want her either,” he replied, before adding that they were also getting divorced.
A few days later, Michael made another public post. This one simply read, “She in a good home now” with a photo of Daisy Mae. He has not publically provided any more information about her whereabouts.

Some fans think that the divorce might be staged
Ever since Michael and Amy Halterman announced their split, some fans thought that the breakup might be completely staged. After all, TLC loves interesting storylines.
However, if they’re getting rid of their family pet, the divorce may be legitimate after all.
Without a doubt, this is going to be a stressful situation for the Halterman family’s young children. Fans hope that Michael and Amy will be able to put their differences aside for the sake of Glenn and Gage.
