Fans are picking sides amid Erin Bates Paine & Carlin Stewart’s rumored feud.
For the past couple of years, there has been heavy speculation that Erin is feuding with her sister, Carlin Stewart. The family hasn’t confirmed these rumors, but fans feel that there is some tension and drama between the two of them. Their followers believe it started when they were running the Bates Sisters Boutique together. Erin has since left the business, so Carlin and Whitney are in charge these days.
It’s unclear what the sisters are fighting over or if they are truly feuding at all. But fans agree they seem to have had a falling out and aren’t nearly as close as they once were. They seldom interact with one another on social media, for example. And they don’t post pictures together or seem to get their kids together, despite them being close in age.
On Reddit this past week, fans were discussing Kelly Jo Bates’ birthday tribute to Erin. They noticed that Carlin commented on the post, “Happy birthday! LY [love you].”

This sparked a discussion about the feud between the sisters, but it also got fans picking sides in this potential fight. Many are not siding with Erin, it seems.

On Reddit, fans are sharing why they are siding with Carlin over Erin. It turns out that many fans are unhappy with Erin Bates’ attitude and the way she comes across on social media. One fan said, “She reminds me too much of the mean churchie girls I grew up with and you know what they all became? Holier than thou church ladies.”
Someone else agreed, “Everything she does is performative so that others may see how perfect and holier she is than anyone else.”
They also pointed out that Erin might be jealous of the life Carlin lives. While both women are religious, Erin Bates still appears to be following many of the strict rules placed on her when she was growing up. For example, she dresses very modestly. Carlin sometimes dresses modestly but isn’t afraid to show some skin.
At this point, Erin Bates Paine hasn’t said anything publicly about these comments made about her online. It’s unclear if she will even see them since they were on Reddit and not on her own Instagram page.

I myself favor Erin because she is living a Christian life and shows it and her children are wonderful well behaved children. I don’t watch Carlin very often because she come across that it’s all about Carlin. I use to like watching her children but Layla is becoming a little Carlin.. she is needing all the attention.
I don’t dislike Carlin I just don’t like over baring people.
