Did Lisa Vanderpump really choose to close her restaurant PUMP due to raised rent? Or, was there another reason that she is withholding from fans and patrons? This seems to be the case as she prepares for the impending closure of the restaurant lounge after ten years of being open. What has prompted speculation that she has fabricated the reason why the doors will no longer be open? Read on for more details.

Did Lisa Vanderpump Really Close PUMP Due To Raised Rent?

A short time back, it appeared that the PUMP building would be available for rent. What was happening with Lisa Vanderpump’s beloved West Hollywood restaurant lounge? It seemed that she and the landlord were in the process of negotiating a new lease but, for the moment, it would be business as usual. Lisa, along with her husband, Ken Todd, had to speak with their landlord and see what they could come up with. Unfortunately, it did not come out the way that they had hoped. A statement was issued on the PUMP Instagram page sharing that they would be closing their doors in July.

The establishment would remain open for West Hollywood Pride which is very important to Lisa Vanderpump. Yet, it was a huge rent increase and a ten-year lease that was too much for them to commit to. However, this may actually not be the case. According to Reality Tea, the landlord is disputing the rent claims. However, after the Vanderpump-Todd family issued their statement on social media about closing PUMP and the reasoning behind it, the landlord spoke to Deadline to clear up any misconceptions.

In a statement, the building landlord shared this: “Lisa’s comments regarding the rent for Pump are not accurate. We did not raise the rent and in fact have been nothing but supportive as they tried to catch up on lease obligations including forgiving some rent during Covid.” If this is in fact true, then why did Lisa Vanderpump and co. feel the need to fabricate the truth? Why not say they had a lot going on in their businesses with two new Vegas establishments and could no longer focus on PUMP?

Keeping Up With The Drama

While trying to open the two new Vegas locales, Lisa Vanderpump also has a lot on her plate. She co-owns TomTom which faced a lot of backlash after co-owner Tom Sandoval was caught cheating. He had a months-long affair with Vanderpump Rules co-star and close friend, Raquel Leviss. This all happened while he was in a nine-year relationship with cast mate, Ariana Madix. Fans felt the betrayal so hard that they rebelled against TomTom, which is also owned by Pump Rules’ Tom Schwartz. So, maybe downsizing is the better option until all of the ducks are in a row.

Do you think the rent really was not raised or is the landlord trying to make Lisa Vanderpump look bad? Let us know and watch Vanderpump Rules Wednesdays on Bravo.
