‘American Idol’ Fans Want Katy Perry Replaced As Judge
This has been a rough year for Katy Perry on American Idol. Now fans are wanting her replaced permanently at the judge’s table. This all came thanks to an episode that Katy wasn’t even in. Fans liked what they saw with the pop star absent.

American Idol fans want Katy Perry replaced
Lionel Richie and Katy Perry weren’t on American Idol on Sunday night. Instead, two special guests sat in for them in the judge’s chairs alongside Luke Bryan. Alanis Morissette replaced Katy while Ed Sheeran replaced Lionel. In what comes as no surprise, the fans who have been all over Katy this season no matter what she does were ecstatic to see someone else judging.
Katy has not had the best year, and she can’t seem to win with the fans. Everyone booed her and blasted her when she called out Nutsa Buzaladze. This was because she put too much emphasis on her stage performance and not as much on her song choices. Then, just a few weeks later, Katy praised Nutsa and saved her in the competition and the fans hated that as well. It was a lot of mixed messages, seemingly.
That led to Sunday night where fans watched Alanis Morissette in action and decided she was the best judge they had seen in a long time. Many took to social media to beg American Idol to replace Katy with Alanis. Throughout the night, Alanis gave strong and solid advice while remaining positive with each contestant.
“Me *whispers* replace Katy with Alanis,” one fan tweeted. “@AmericanIdol make the change permanent @Alanis #edsheeran tuned in to see them,” another tweeted. With that said, some fans loved Alanis but still missed Katy. “Missed Lionel and Katy, but Alanis and Ed did great! Especially Alanis!” one fan commented on Twitter after the show.
Why wasn’t Katy Perry on American Idol on Sunday night?
Katy Perry missed out on the Sunday night American Idol episode because she was in the United Kingdom for the coronation of King Charles III. The new King invited Katy as well as her American Idol co-judge Lionel Richie to perform at the coronation concert over the weekend. Here is Katy’s performance for the new King.
For fans who might not know why King Charles III invited Katy to perform at his coronation, they have a connection. Katy served as an ambassador for King Charles III for the British Asian Trust. This is also similar to Lionel Richie, who was the first global ambassador of the Prince’s Trust when King Charles III founded the charity. Katy Perry should be back on American Idol tonight.

Put anybody in Katie Perry place..I do not like her attitude..do not like they way she speaks to certain contestants, and she acts like her opinions about ancontestant is the only one that counts..Also I do think for the last 5 yrs or more that the American Idol is rigged. There is no way some of the singers that won should have won..there were a lot better singers that should have won. Because of that when I see the final contestants and they should not have been there, I don’t watch any more..It us to the point where I don’t want to watch.
