Tragic news making rounds this morning — Tori Bowie, Olympic U.S. sprinter who took home three medals during the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games, was found dead at the age of 32. Where was she found? Has Tori Bowie’s cause of death been released? Keep reading for the saddening details.

2016 Olympic Gold Medallist Tori Bowie Found Dead At 32

Confirming in a statement to People Magazine, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department was performing a wellness check on the 2016 Olympic Gold Medallist. The statement read that they were asked to “conduct a well-being check of a woman in her 30s who had not been seen or heard from in several days.”

It was on Tuesday afternoon when officers arrived at Tori’s home to conduct the wellness check. After getting inside her home, the officers at the scene tragically discovered a body later identified as Frentorish ‘Tori’ Bowie. Sadly, she was confirmed to be dead upon discovery.

Frentorish ‘Tori’ Bowie created a name for herself when she competed in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games and took home three medals. The three medals included a gold in the 4×100-meter relay, a silver medal in the 100-meter relay, and a bronze medal in the 200-meter race.

Fortunately, the police department has confirmed Tori Bowie’s cause of death does not believe to be related to foul play. Her exact cause of death, however, has yet to be made public.

Her management company issued a statement

Tori Bowie’s death was confirmed by her management company. They also issued an official statement mourning her tragic passing. The company, Icon Management, tweeted:

We’re devasted to share the very sad news that Tori Bowie has passed away. We’ve lost a client, dear friend, daughter and sister. Tori was a champion…a beacon of light that shined so bright! We’re truly heartbroken and our prayers are with the family and friends.”

Love for Tori poured into the comments of the statement as it was devastating for such a talented young woman to be dead at such a young age. Unfortunately, fans of the U.S. sprinter will have to wait for the autopsy to be conducted to determine what her cause of death was.
