‘American Idol’ Fans Blast Katy Perry For Going Easy On Singer
Katy Perry can’t catch a break this season as American Idol fans are blasting her for being too nice to a singer in the Top 12 round. This came a few weeks after fans blasted Katy for being too harsh to another singer.
Here is what American Idol fans are mad about this week when it concerns Katy Perry and her critique of the singers.
American Idol fans blast Katy Perry for going easy on singers
Sunday night on American Idol, the Top 12 performed for the right to move on to the Top 10. Ironically, the two singers who went home after the fan voting were the two singers that the judges saved last week. After the judges saved both Nutsa Buzaladze and Lucy Love, the fans made them the bottom two this week and both went home.
However, what made the fans mad at Perry this week was that they felt she was too nice to the singers. This came to a head when Haven Madison came out to perform her rendition of Bon Jovi’s hit song, “Livin’ on a Prayer.” She wore a rockstar-inspired outfit with a black blazer.
By the end of her performance, the judges were all very happy with what they saw and heard. She controlled the stage and had a great presence. Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan both gave her a standing ovation and Katy Perry looked in awe. That is when Katy praised Haven for her performance.
“Well you done traded in your Flintstones vitamins for some confidence vitamins,” Katy began. She went on to say that the performance had her excited and threatened. She said that Haven was going to be the next big pop star.
Fans were not happy. Many fans took to Twitter and didn’t think Haven deserved this praise. One wrote, “I don’t think Haven was as good as the judges are making her out to be.” One fan responded to the remark by writing, “I think it was ridiculous and the judges are getting more obnoxious. This show has gotten hard to watch.”
Finally, a third wrote, “I don’t need the judges to be disrespectful and insulting… but I do need them to stop lying and give constructive criticism.”
Fans previously blasted Perry for being too harsh on singers
This is a tough season for Katy Perry. This week, she was criticized for praising Haven for her performance. Earlier in April, fans blasted her for being too harsh and mean to Nutsa Buzaladze. What is most ironic about that is that when Katy helped save Nutsa last week, fans hated that too.
Nothing Katy Perry and the other judges have done this season seems to be working with fans. They are either too harsh or too nice, and no matter which side they stand on, fans are there to blast them for it. Haven was just the latest reason to hate on Katy and the other judges, and it likely won’t be the last.
