Is Carly Waddell dissing Evan Bass in new album release?

Carly Waddell details about her life and her new upcoming album with US Weekly. Her first single has been getting fans talking and wondering if the lyrics are about her ex-husband Evan Bass. Many were cheering her on for the alleged diss, while others disapproved. So, is there any truth to the rumors?

Carly’s first single, “Your Friends Like Me More,” drops officially on May 1. However, she has given fans a glimpse into the song and video. Enough of a glimpse to get everyone talking.

The former cruise ship singer laughingly said, “I’m not Taylor Swift. And I love that she writes about her life, but I was coming out of a divorce and that’s literally the last thing I wanted to think about. People can say whatever they want — they’re going to anyway. But no, I didn’t want that. I remember when I sat down with these writers and they were like, ‘We should write about your divorce.’ And I was like, ‘No, ew. I don’t wanna even think about that.”

Carly continued saying, “I want the fun part of me to come back out.’ I was like, ‘I want Shania Twain songs!’ I knew people were gonna [assume], especially when, you know, some of these songs like ‘Make a Guy a Jerk,’ but there are guys out there that are jerks, you know? It’s not about Evan! People can interpret however they want to — they’re gonna do it anyway.”

In fact, there is nothing personal about Carly’s life in these songs. With that said she revealed one song is kind of about her children. Other than that there is nothing that is taken from her life and put into these songs.

Overall, Carly was aiming to have a fun and light-hearted album which can be seen in her first single.

Where she stands with her now ex-husband

Carly also shared where she stands with Evan after their divorce. As it turns out, she and Evan are on good terms and actually co-parent their two children very well together. She doesn’t worry anymore when they go to his house on his designated weekends.

Carly said he’s done this parenting thing before, all three of his other kids are older, so she knows he can handle it. If something comes up they discuss it and work it out. She said it’s all very easy with Evan.
