In particular, his friend and fellow DWTS judge Carrie Ann Inaba had plenty of sweet things to say about Len.

“Happy birthday to the truly #legendary Len Goodman. Please watch until the end,” Carrie Ann captioned her Instagram video. “I still love you Len, even though you didn’t help me up when I fell off my chair. 😉😘But in all seriousness. I will miss that voice. Thankfully, we have so many videos to watch like this one, and the special memories that are forever embedded in our hearts. 💕

The video featured a compilation of all the best DWTS routines over the years. And of course, there were snippets of the judges having a great time behind their table too. It’s clear to everyone that Len Goodman was a critical part of the series and he will be sorely missed.

“Thank you @dancingwiththestars for bringing us all together and giving us this wonderful #DWTS family. And thank YOU all for the love and support that was sent out for Len yesterday. #love #dwts Happy Birthday Len! 💕💕💕” she concluded her post.

Plenty of DWTS cast members left sweet notes in the comments, wishing Len Goodman a wonderful birthday.

Happy heavenly birthday 🎂 Len it will always be a Ten for you!” one follower wrote in the comments.

Really hoping DWTS does a memory for him on the show,” another fan added. “He deserves a beautiful tribute.”

Tom Bergeron received the heartbreaking news rather late

Tom Bergeron and Len Goodman had both stepped away from DWTS, but apparently thought very well of each other. The former show host revealed that he was actually in the dark about Len’s death and heard the news in an upsetting way.

In an interview with ET, Tom Bergeron admitted that his sister initially told him about Len’s death through a text. After that, he received all the details from news outlets online. But amid the shock of the loss, Tom had plenty of great things to say about his former colleague.

“That smile, that twinkle in the eye. Grouchiness that he would kind of ratchet up for TV. I would think of times when — ’cause his critiques were always 100 percent honest, but he would ratchet up when doing a commercial break,” the former DWTS host told ET. “He’d call me over and go, ‘That was good, wasn’t it?’ ‘Oh yeah, that was good, yeah.’ The grouchy part was really more show than his actual personality, I think.”
