Sean and Catherine Lowe’s Sacrifice Pays Off, Better Life For Baby
Former Bachelor Sean and Catherine Lowe were forced with a tough decision. While it could have been horrible it turns out their sacrifice paid off and their baby now has a better life. What happened? Keep reading to find out more.
Sean Lowe and his wife Catherine made a tough decision
Sean and Catherine Lowe were faced with a dilemma no parent ever wants to be faced with. Their beloved dog Gus, who is a Bullmastiff, bit their six-year-old son on the side of the head. This unfortunately wasn’t the first instance Gus had shown a bit of aggression. He had a few resource-guarding moments when he snapped at their daughter Mia. However, this particular breed while very large is also very likely to react to any potential threat. It’s just their nature.
Fortunately, Samuel was okay. He bent down one night to pet Gus and that’s when Gus bit him on the side of the head. Sean said, “The result was a trip to the E.R. and a staple in the head. So as much as I love that dog, I have to protect my kids first. But he’s in a great home and we’ll get to still see him occasionally.”
Letting Gus go was not an easy decision for Sean. However, it turns out that Gus perhaps found an even better home where he is already spoiled and making new fur friends. While answering fan questions on Instagram, Sean revealed that it was his dog trainer who decided she wanted to give Gus his forever home. Gus is her personal dog now and he even gets to go to work with her every day and be around lots of other dogs. He’s living the good life.
She messaged Sean and let him know that Gus is doing great. A picture was shared of Gus laying next to a pug. The trainer noted that this pug hates all the other dogs except for Gus. Sean joked, “Must be the close resemblance.”
He’s a dog lover
Rehoming Gus is not something Sean Lowe takes lightly. He loves dogs and he said Catherine would even say it’s to the point of being a sickness. Many fans can relate to his feelings. Gus isn’t the family’s first dog. Sean had Ellie before becoming The Bachelor. When Ellie passed away the Lowe’s shared a touching tribute to her and let the world know how much she was loved and will be missed.
Sean is still not over having to rehome Gus but says one day his family will adopt another fur baby. It won’t be soon though. Sean shared getting a new dog quickly would feel too much like cheating on Gus and he does still hold a special place for him in his heart.
Sean and Catherine made a decision nobody wants to make. However, it worked out and they provided him with the best most loving option they could. While staying with them forever would have been ideal, their choice was made responsibly as devoted pet owners who will forever love Gus.
