Return to Amish introduced some new people this season including Fannie Schmucker. She has ties to the current and previous cast but was about to get shunned. So, Rosanna Miller proposed that she comes down to Pinecraft, Florida to get away and clear her head. She seemed to be like a fish out of water and very uncomfortable. Yet, did the English life eventually suit her? Read on for more details.

Return To Amish Did Fannie Schmucker Turn English?

Fannie Schmucker was introduced in Season 7 of Return to Amish. She is Rosanna Miller’s cousin and had just been found out for having a cell phone. This is not proper in the Amish world but it was actually her fiance who ratted her out for having the technology. Knowing that she would have to go to the church, confess her sin, and then have them decide her fate, Fannie was not thrilled. Since Rosanna was already in Florida with her boyfriend, Johnny Detweiler, she felt Fannie should join.

Maureen Byler was on her way down to Florida so Rosanna asked her close friend to swing by and grab Fannie Schmucker. Though the Florida house is crowded, Rosanna believed that Fannie had an in. She is not only Rosanna’s cousin but also Mama Mary Schmucker’s niece so it was all in the family. Once she made it to Florida, it was clear she was super awkward. When the group went to go try on and buy English clothing, she would not even leave the dressing room. So, did she leave or change her life?

According to Fannie Schmicker’s multiple Facebook pages, she has embraced English life. There is even a photo of her in English clothing with Rosanna while the latter was still pregnant. In her various photos, she is in dresses and average clothing, nothing too long. In fact, she looks like an average twenty-something. It also appears that she has a boyfriend and is very happy. So, the experience in Florida may have been extremely beneficial.

Based On A True Story

It has become no secret that Return to Amish is not actually real. Cast members like Maureen Byler and Daniel Miller have actually left their communities years before filming for the show. Daniel even joked that he and Kenneth Detweiler were going to be the new favorite actors. He has been out of the Amish world for almost six years now. Maureen was seen posting with boys on Facebook back in 2018 yet did not appear on the series until 2020.

As for Fannie Schmucker, she has been posting since the end of 2021 which actually aligns with the timeline of her appearing on the show. Season 7 was filmed in mid-2021. Therefore, her story might actually be somewhat real. It just seems that the cast is portraying what life is like once they choose to leave their communities. However, they have already done so making it based on a true story.
